Possibly, evidence of a bad player on the Community board
Summary: tarnotop received an incomprehensible message via the community board, suspecting it to be a scam. Several participants, including eburtonlab and shire123, confirmed it is a scam attempt to steal eBay credentials and advised reporting it. a_c_green noted the message appeared differently on mobile, and mam98031 emphasized the importance of reporting such scams to eBay. tarnotop expressed appreciation for the community's assistance.
Today, I received a direct message via this community board.
I cannot make sense out of it, and I think I/we are being toyed with by a bad player.
Can anyone advise to the nature of the following message?
Please note, that these are not my words but a message that I received on the Community board.

ยท3 weeks ago@tarnotop This message did NOT come from some buyer. It is someone trying to SCAM you. Someone that is trying to get your information about your account so they can STEAL from you. PLEASE report this message to Ebay. It is how we can work to STOP these thieves. If you don't know how to report them, just ask.

ยท3 weeks agoYes, an obvious scam. Report and ignore.
I'm viewing that message on my desktop now, where it's plainly legible, but when I saw it earlier today on my smartphone (Samsung Z Flip3), the letters were interrupted by dozens of colorful flag glyphs, as if the text formatting had called up the wrong font on my phone. Unreadable, but festive. :-)

ยท3 weeks agoHover over the message and a circle with 3 dots will appear on the far right. Click on the circle and click the "report" line.
This is a well known scam that has been going on for a few months now.

OP3 weeks agoThank you for your help. Without help coming from eBay these days, it's great to get help from other users.

It's a scam of some kind, designed to get the recipient to go to the URL at the end, which is a fake verification page, to steal eBay credentials.
eBay is blocking obvious scam text messages, so scammers are trying different ways of obscuring the message and the URL.
