I've noticed over the past 18 months since I have moved to a new house, that when eBay says items have been "delivered", they actually arent, if they are sent using pitney-bowes esus "tracking". The items always show, "out for delivery", when they are actually 40 miles away, and actually on their way to my city's post office. when the items reach my city or one of my city's post offices, eBay shows, "Delivered". Both the seller and eBay think i have my item. When in actuality, it can take 1-5 days longer for me to actually get the item delivered to my home. To me this is a technical issue that should be fixed. Because the date I actually get the items are not the date the seller and eBay thinks I got the items. Not only that, but the "tracking" stops there. so if i never get the item, its stuck in my city somewhere, and the seller and eBay see that it says "delivered". This is only a problem with packages sent using pitney-bowes, as they are not USPS tracking numbers, and do not work correctly with USPS scanners.

·10 months agoIf you are referring to Ebay Standard Envelope shipments, they are not scanable as delivered by your letter carrier. The last scan is at the regional hub.
These are not Pitney Bowes numbers. They are an Ebay number which maps to a different type of USPS tracking which repurposes the old Letter tracking bar codes. The name for this code escapes me, but it has one.
This is an inferior limited service, created to increase the utilization of First Class Main sorting equipment which is underutilized and already paid for.
Delays and missing packages using ESE are plentiful. When I tested it, I had late or lost shipments up to 20% of the time because of the way I package to avoid damage - too much rigidity.

·10 months agoIf these are eBay Standard Envelope shipments, tracking is not the typical end-to-end service; it only goes as far as the recipient's post office.
If you want end-to-end tracking, you must pay for a different level or service, which typically costs much more.
