Permanently change search location to North America Only
Is there a way to permanently change the default search behavior from worldwide to only North America? I am tired of having to change the item location to North America every time I search for something.

You misunderstand.
The "customize" option provides a lockable filter option -- but only in the eBay app.
The "customize" option in a desktop browser does not provide that option; for desktop browsers you must install a third party app called "eBay item location -- my country only" to be able to override eBay's "default" item location and limit your results to the US or North America every time you search.

Yes, you can set it permanently. This is how I did it on Samsung android.
Search for an item
Then select filter.
Scroll down and select Customise
Switch "lockable filters" to ON ( you might as well also switch on "Expand all filters" at the same time)
Select "Show results" again
Select "Filters" again
Scroll down to "Location" which will show as "Default"
Touch "Default" to expand the location menu.
Select your preferred Default location eg North America, but now you will see a greyed out padlock
Touch the padlock and it will change colour.
Select " Show results".
From now on your Default location is fixed to your preferred country.
Good Luck with buying!

·5 years agoIf you use the eBay app, there is a way to lock some of your search filter settings; you may have to enable the lockable filters first using the "customization" option in the filter menu.
If you are using a desktop browser, there is an extension called "eBay item location -- my country only" that will allow you to bypass the "default" item location search setting in your browser.
Keep in mind that just because sellers say that items ship from a particular location does not always mean that sellers actually do so, though they should.
