More glitches - Unable to promote listings - Error message
Just listed 53 new items and getting an error message when I try to promote them. Cleared cache/cookies. Reopened Chrome browser - same error still. I don't use any other browsers.
"Please reload the window" does nothing doesn't make any difference.
Will wait a bit to see if it resolves itself but thought I'd see if anyone else is getting this error.

OP11 months agoThat error message I was seeing this morning about "Something went wrong. Please try again" even though the promoting was a success seems to be resolved now as well. No issues noticed at the moment.

OP11 months agoHappy to say it seems to be working for me as well but I'm still getting a cosmetic message that 'Something went wrong' even though it's actually working now. Will report as well but just posting here in case anyone sees this too. I was able to replicate it twice but confirmed my listings actually were assigned to the campaign.

·11 months agoI'm having the same issue (and did report it multiple times). I can't add existing listings to a promoted campaign from the active listings page. I can create new promoted campaigns and add that way. But then when I go to list a new item and try to attach it to a campaign I get an error that it can't be added. Not sure what's going on but it's been a week I think since my promoted campaigns were working properly.

Hey @themodernavenue! I checked this morning and there is a sitewide ticket open for the issue of sellers being unable to promote new listings and getting error. The ticket is ALERT16151 for any seller that reaches out to customer support and the Product team is looking to resolve it as soon as possible.

OP11 months agoJust got a follow up to the chat I had with them. They acknowledge it’s an issue now but no ETA. The stacking in the email reply is strange so just providing the most relevant paragraph.

·11 months agoI see the error if I try to promote from the Active listings page. Try this instead: go to your advertising dashboard and either create a new campaign for the item or add it to an existing campaign. I successfully added new listings to an existing campaign this morning.

·11 months agoI can confirm as well there is something going on. I was trying to add a single listing to my promoted options but nada. Got the same error.

·11 months agoI'm experiencing the same and have tried multiple ways that I can think of to promote my listings that are eligible. I'll be dropping a technical issue ticket. But I highly doubt we'll see any response until after the holiday weekend.

OP11 months agoYou can go into bulk edit in seller hub and create a new promoted campaign. That’s what I ended up doing.

·11 months agoI submitted a ticket on this issue 3 days ago. The typical response for chronic I T issues "24 to 48 hours" to resolve this issue. At the time there were NO OTHER reports. I see many others are now seeing this same PROBLEM. One can only assume that our awesome I T staff is enjoying their long holiday weekend and will address this HUGE PROBLEM in this millennium.

·11 months ago@maxnroysmarket. I just wanted to clarify that submitting a report to customer service is not the same as using the ? mark to report. This gets to the correct department and the volume of reports is tracked better.
CS often says what a member wants to hear. The truth is the more widespread the problem the sooner it's fixed. That's why reporting the way I suggested is important.

My advice is to use the Report Technical issue option by clicking on the ? mark on the lower right of most pages. This way the report is sent directly to the team that works on this problem.
This is the best way to report tech issues as the agents don't always understand the problem.

OP11 months agoI thought I might be able to bulk edit all the listings rather than the short-cut to promote them but when I highlight all listings, click on 'Bulk Edit' and then scroll down to Promote; none of my campaigns show there to select.
Workaround - I'll probably do the steps above and just create a new campaign, for now, with the same settings as the one I usually use. Then when the issue gets fixed, I'll just merge them together.

OP11 months agoI reported this to them in live chat just now and they said there are currently no bugs on their side. After some insistence on my part, he said he would raise it to the technical team but didn't provide an ALERT number or anything... I'll email some other contacts I have as well but probably won't hear back until next week when everyone is back in the office... Pretty sure this isn't a 'me' problem since there's a few of us experiencing it.

·11 months agoSame here. Unable to promote new listings and can't edit promotions on existing listings. Promoted listings not working at all this week. This is having a massive impact on sales. Has eBay acknowledged that this is an issue?

OP11 months agoI can promote 1 listing at a time on my phone in the app. Maybe there’s a work around but will look into it more tomorrow if it’s still happening

·11 months agoSame at 12:41 am I just listed 50 plus items, went to promote, and getting error.. all my sales for most of the week were all organic. and i have plenty of listings on ebay.. All promoted. Obvious technical errors with promoted listings this week.

OP11 months agoI ended up bulk editing and creating a new campaign. Not ideal but it will work until they get some eyes on it and fix it hopefully..

·11 months agoAnd now the seller's hub, active listings and traffic are problematic. My traffic shows 0 promoted views for 3 days despite having 225 listings promoted but my organic & offsite views are up 59% , sales in those 2 categories up 39%. I guess eBay no longer wants us to promote 🤣?????

OP11 months agoThat's actually a great point. My organic impressions are up 300-400% but my promoted is only up about 60%.. I've been doing a ton of listing. It's fine with me if eBay wants less money or it will be a 'bug' and they'll come for it later like they did a month or 2 ago 🙂
