Managed Active Listings Not Properly Coded to Work with Safari Browser
You have improperly coded your website to work with with the Safari browser.
The three buttons to the right remain grayed out even after an item has been selected.
The Edit button is not grayed out, but can't be used.
Only the small "Edit" links work.

·3 years agoI'm on a fairly new - less than a year old Intel Nuc - and have been having issues with the Manage Active Listings page for a couple of months now on and off. I have to go to page 2 of my active listings and then go back to page 1 to get it to load so that I can actually search or do anything else. Initially the page will be almost blank showing no listings. Today, that's not working either. Both on Chrome and Firefox. I think Ebay just adding, fixing, changing, updating an extremely old website just keeps breaking things more and more. I have no issues listing or completing tasks on Poshmark. Ebay has been promising and promising sellers for years now, that they will require buyers to automatically pay for best offers and auctions and it never happens. No other website has this problem, among may others, except Ebay.

·3 years agoAdd another person to this list. Same problems. I use Firefox.
So is there anyway to no alter or end a Good 'Till Cancelled BIN? Am I trapped with these same BINs eating up my monthly free listings?
wastingtime101
·3 years agoYou can try this page for ending listings:

·3 years agoThe arrow next to Edit does not produce the drop down menu anymore. Probably happened around mid Feb so I have no access to those 12 options in there.
Thanks, the other option did work for me. At least I can get rid of auctions I want to stop being Good Till Cancelled the day they are supposed to end. Thank you.

·3 years agoHey @devon@ebay. Reports on this issue keep coming in, mostly for Firefox and Safari users. Can you check to see if there's a site wide tech ticket yet?
FYI: The first issue on the pinned tech issues thread is missing the ALERT number.
devon@ebay
Hey @wastingtime101! Thank you for letting me know about the Tech Board and I have updated it now to haver the alert number attached to the first one. I have not seen any sitewide tickets on this yet but I will check again later to see if it one does show up.

Issues not fixed....many people having the same issue with older systems that can't update safari.... but we still pay the ebay fees to use the site and sell. Please help!

·3 years agoI am having the same issue. I was able to end listings by going to seller help, how to end listings. It will populate your listings and you can end them from there. It is a pain, but it works.

·3 years agoI have this exact same problem, and have for several weeks.
It is impossible to use the Seller Hub effectively, because none of the buttons, links or tabs respond when clicked on. Also, search features seem off - there's no traffic going to any of my listings, so between these multiple problems, I've been finding the site too frustrating to use.
Maybe eBay could build a separate path for bulk sellers to use, instead of trying to force tools onto smaller sellers that aren't helpful and do not work? Just maintain a space for us that keeps the pre-2020 version in play, since that was a highly successful model. I don't need a bunch of metrics and marketing tools - just a straightforward peer-to-peer sales site that is simple, and functional. Like it used to be.

·3 years agoIt would help to know what system everyone is working on and what version of Safari you have.
I have an older computer and version of Safari (13.1.2) which may be the issue and unfortunately can no longer update the system. I feel ebay should fix the coding/updates to work with older systems.
I spoke with them again today and they said no other reports have been made to the technical dept. Started a ticket number - so hopefully it will be resolved soon.
wastingtime101
·3 years agoAgree on both points. This is why I posted my system info above.

·3 years agoI encourage everyone having issues to please call in to ebay customer service - it has been a week and nothing fixed. You would think it would be done by now. Last time this happened it was only for a few days, but this is a bit much. Thank you

·3 years agoTo anybody experiencing this @Anonymous or otherwise:
Does your browser have any add-ons or plug-ins attached? A lot of times that's the cause of this type of issue, so if we could either rule that out or confirm if that's the cause (either way) it would be helpful.
an-57470
OP3 years agoZero extensions.
Just a totally uncaring and inept eBay as always - that is why they've dropped to #3 behind Shopify.
wastingtime101
·3 years agoThanks for confirming that. In case it's at all helpful for diagnostics:
I'm on OS Ventura using Safari and Firefox - OS/browsers are all latest versions, up to date. I have one extension enabled: AdBlock Plus
So far I'm not experiencing this problem. *knock wood*

·3 years agoGlad I am not the only one, I thought it was my computer. But as of today now I cannot even list new items.

·3 years agoBumping because this issue is ongoing and it hasn't been added to the list of known issues at the top.
In case this helps anyone else, I discovered that the link to create a listing works for me on the Terapeak page, but still does not work on the Drafts or Active pages, and other buttons and links still not working from those pages.
an-57470
OP3 years agoAll circled items do not work.
The small "Edit" Action control to the left of each listing also does not work. Normally it would display a popup menu of different options when clicked, but its only takes you to the edit page for that listing.
an-57470
OP3 years agoUsual eBay idiotic responses:
We will file a report. We will get back to in 24, 48 or 72 hours by phone or email. There are no reported problems with Safari.
Clear browser cache, clear history, log out and back in, restart browser, restart computer, blah, blah, blah.
Use another browser - sorry not installing Chrome as its insecure and made by a company known for misusing its user's data.
Not using the eBay app on my phone and driving 1/2 mile to the edge of town to get a good signal. Don't trust any app from eBay considering what compulsive liars eBay employees are.
Not connecting my non Apple phone to my Mac network to share its high speed fiber optic connection out of security concerns.
No accountability - anywhere else you'd be fired yesterday.

If you do not want to use a non-Safari browser like Firefox or Opera to try to manage your active listings in Seller Hub, you might try using a non-Seller Hub page in Safari instead.

·3 years agoI'm having the same issue. Can't end a listing without going through a bunch of hoops to try to get to a non seller hub page 😞 -How long until this is fixed I wonder? I don't use Firefox or Chrome, as they slowed down my computer in the past, so I uninstalled them.....Safari works great for me, and has for years.
Also, in the last few days it seems they've taken away the option to view 'sold' details on listings that have more than one of an item for sale. ( I use this feature ALL the time to research prices, how often they're selling for that price, etc.). I use this feature for selling AND buying.

·3 years agoSafari works great for me, and has for years.
Except in this case, apparently.
Try Opera. It is often handy to have a second browser available for occasions such as this. If the browser is slow compared to Safari, just use it for things that Safari can not do at all, or to test whether a feature works in a different browser. Having another browser on your computer should not slow things down appreciably if you close the browser when you are not using it.
Also, in the last few days it seems they've taken away the option to view 'sold' details on listings that have more than one of an item for sale.
There is a workaround described here:
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/Sales-history-of-a-listing/m-p/33602875/highlight/true#M217459...
Apparently if you paste the item number into the correct link, you can still get the selling history.

·3 years agoHey dawson_treasures! It's been a month since you called ebay- any changes or solutions for you on this problem? I'm having the same issues, and have been for about a month. It's now become a real problem, and slows me WAY down.....
dawson_treasures
·3 years agoUnfortunately there has been no change and I've been working around it on my iPad Pro. Ebay doesn't seem to care about this issue with older computers or Safari versions even though they should due to the fact we all pay to use it. I will be calling and checking on the request and case number, but I'm sure I will get the run around. They simply want us to use another browser or update our systems.....same as Apple.

·3 years agoInterested in knowing what this fix will be. I too have the same problem on ebay and was told on 2 separate occasions that it was my computer. I am using an iMac that is more than 10years old. It was working fine in early February and then stopped. On other ebay pages, I have full function of them.

·3 years agoOverview and sold pages work but need the active listing page to do bulk edits current listings etc. I only use Safari...have had similar issues in the past and usually work in a day or two. Probably ebay glitch or coding issue from update. I prefer only using Safari as I'm not familiar with Chrome. Hopefully ebay is working on it.

·3 years agoJust started to create new listings from scratch and I have the same issue as the OP. Those three buttons are grayed out and the button to create a new listing doesn't work on the Manage Active or Drafts page.
I can create a new listing on my chromebook, so I can still get things done, but there were definitely some coding changes that happened.
carolynnq
·3 years agoStarting yesterday (or at least that's when I noticed), in Drafts when you check a box to select a draft, the "Delete Draft" and "Create a Copy" buttons at the top are dead. The "Resume Draft" button goes to an error page: "We looked everywhere. Looks like this page is missing..." Other links on the Drafts page seem to work. I'm using Firefox.
eburtonlab
·3 years agoAre you able to work with your drafts on this page instead?
https://www.ebay.com/mys/drafts
carolynnq
·3 years agoYes, the buttons on that page work. Thank you! The only thing I couldn't do from the other page was delete a draft, so it wasn't stopping my work, but it was annoying seeing that unwanted draft sitting there.
shot9067
·3 years agoThis is really frustrating. The only thing “working†for me is the same edit link that you mentioned. I can’t send offers because clicking on the arrow right next to the working edit link doesn’t open the drop down menu and the quick filters aren’t working either. Create new listing isn’t grayed out but doesn’t work. Can’t do anything from drafts because nothing at all is working on the manage drafts, ended listings or unsold listings pages in seller hub. I guess we’re already seeing some new improvements to the site thanks to the increase in seller fees yesterday.

OP3 years agoThey could care less.
They disabled live messages in another account so I could not contact them any longer.
One of their favorite techniques, along with disabling phone support.
Surely you know eBay customer service are famously known for habitually lying; incompetence; stalling; playing phone tag; pretending their computers are having trouble loading anything; playing stupid; and so on. They thought Safari was a computer.

·3 years agoI’m having the same or similar issues when I try to do anything on “manage active listings†page in seller hub. I’m using an iPad and Safari browser.
I use Safari without issues.
Those buttons are always grey until you select a listing to work with.
Edit button works when you select a listing to edit.
an-57470
OP3 years agoGee, thanks Captain Obvious.
They don't work when a item is selected, thus the reason for contacting eBay.
Nor do the quick filters or the Create Listing button.
Improper coding of website and failure to test website.
You speak of Safari as if its one single product.
No need to be snarky. I’m not there looking over your shoulder to see what’s happening with your browser.
Must be something with your browser and or device because mine works fine.
Hopefully one of the more tech savvy responders will chime in soon.

·3 years agoOne does wonder "Captain Obvious" why Private Snark can't get Safari to work like it does for everybody else. I don't think eBay employees read these boards and I know nobody here coded anything.

You signed on 2 days ago. Did you sign up for managed payments so that you can be paid? That may be why those areas are grayed out. You need to provide a payment method for your payments. If you already have signed up for payments, it may be a glitch. Nothing new here.
Good luck and Happy selling.
an-57470
OP3 years agoSurely you know people have accounts for eBay forums.
Nothing to do with this account at all.
Nothing to do with managed payments.
Been on Ebay since the late 1990s.
Improperly coded website and failure to test website with billions of dollars and thousands of employees.
100% Incompetence!

·3 years ago@Anonymous
Yes, I know about posting ID's. We get lots of people here who haven't sold, try to sell only complain they can't list anything. 9 times out of 10 it's usually the problem with managed payments. Thank you for making that clear to me it's your posting ID.
Yes, Ebay has some issues. Let's hope they fix them some time soon. I sell in the jewelry venue and it's a total challenge at times with the items specifics. 🙄
Have a great day.
an-57470
OP3 years agoI don't use item specifics.
Any categories with minimum required specifics are filled out automatically using a custom AppleScript within a listing application. It populates them with "Not Applicable" or something similar. Double click AppleScript and its done in a second or less.
Last week they also disabled GarageSale 7 in attempt to force users of that product to purchase GarageSale 9 so they have to pay their 3rd party partner $14.99 a month to list more than 50 items. For that amount of money I can list elsewhere and have no fees, no eBay headaches and a lot more traffic. My social media listings get way more views and they cost zero. People have even drove over 100 miles one way to pick up items, not including the couple that stopped by while on a vacation.
They are totally incompetent and clearly care about their users. The management only cares about their bonuses at any cost. That is why they have lost millions of sellers and buyers and dropped from #1 to #3.
If they really cared about sellers they would release their own desktop listing application, which has been the fastest way to manage listings since 2000. Instead they expect you to use the way, way, too slow to use Seller Hub. Only newbs would use that to list items.
mr_bright_side_77
·3 years agoIt's not a problem with managed payments. Like the orginal poster, I've been on eBay since the beginning and don't have a problem with how my account is set up. The problem is that the Seller Hub is almost completely frozen and nothing responds when I try to use it, including features that eBay is trying to promote, and has pop up to try out. It's a real mess.
an-57470
OP3 years agoQuick filters and Create Listing controls also disabled.
