Locked out of account
Hello. I have been locked out of my account for “security purposes” and the only way for me to get back into my account is to reset my password by first having a code sent to my email but I hadn’t updated my email in my account and no longer have access to that email as it is now deactivated(I know I should have updated my email as soon as I could, made the mistake of keep putting it off). I have called eBay numerous times and the most they have done is send in a request for me to sign in with my new email but has been denied for whatever reason. I have been told the account can’t be recovered so I have asked if they could at least delete my account or take down the listings I have up for sale but they either can’t help or ask me security questions that I somehow fail at answering! I am at my wit’s end here and really need help, I just need to get access to my listings I have up for sale or have them deleted. Thank you.

OP5 months agoJust called and still no help, they say to contact my email provider to get access into the email but I don’t see how that’s possible as it’s been deactivated for a long time, which I have stated to eBay! This has to be the most frustrating ordeal I’ve been through yet, I don’t understand how they can not help with this! There just has to be some way!

·5 months ago@er276036 I would try to reach eBay support through Instagram. They shut down support on X and Facebook, but I believe Instagram is still there based on some posts here last week. You may get further with them than with someone on the phone. Please keep us posted.

OP5 months agoJust did that, they’re unable to help but did give me the direct number to the account takeover team so hopefully something will be done this time!

·5 months agoAre you able to check you account to see if you have made any sales? Are you able to process your orders and get paid?
If not then eventually after a few unfilled orders eBay will shut you down.
If I try to sign into my account using the wrong password I am offered to have a code email or texted to myself. Is this function available to you?
If I click on I have new number then there is another screen to enter phone number. Not sure how far this will get you. Its worth a try.

OP5 months agoI can only check my listings by searching them up as like a customer, I did process my orders I have right now, I did manage to get the buyers’ addresses from a rep and purchased labels on USPS. That function is not available for me, it will just keep telling me I’m locked out and have to reset password and when I go to reset my password, emailing the code is the only option.

·5 months agoSo a eBay representative gave you the address of your buyers? How did they verify who you were? I am surprised they would give you this information without verifying who you are. Seems if they were willing to do this then there must be a way to reset your password.
You can create a new eBay account but your old account will keep relisting until everything sells or there are enough problems that eBay will close it along with any new accounts you may create.
I would keep trying to get eBay on the phone and see what they can do. I would be concerned with the listings being active when I do not have access to the account to fulfill orders. I would be trying to get them unlisted. The next representative may not give you the names and addresses.

OP5 months agoI did give some personal info like my address, name, email, etc. before they gave me the addresses but yes you would think they could do something that can get me back into my account if they can give me buyer info. It’s just a nightmare for me and I’ve called so many times that I feel discouraged in keep calling but I am very concerned about my listings and don’t want more problems so I guess I’ll have to keep calling till they finally do something. I have 149 listings.
