Issues with Inventory doubling
Hello all,
Today we came to the office to realize about 40% of our inventory on eBay has changed. Some cases adding 10 pieces and in some multiplying. I would email eBay but I know the drill here. They play like you're the only one with the issue until a month later when they admit they have a glitch. Anyone else having this issue?

·3 years agoYes. All "sold" item qty was added to "available" qty.
Now sold out (0 qty) items are back for sale and other items have very high qty's.
Have probably 5000 listings effected.
Called ebay and said issue is known. But 3 days in, not fixed and it's hell.

·3 years agoSame here. Total mess.
And we reported to Ebay, but they said they are trying to fix issues.

·3 years agoI am glad you posted here. I have never had this issue before, it is a mess!
I received an order for an item that is out of stock. Almost all of my listings were wrong. Items out of stock are showing in stock and inventory doubled or more.
I scheduled time away and not selling,

·3 years agoSame here, nice spaghetti code ebay, compensation for the added days of work fixing inventory quantities would be nice.

·3 years agoUnreal. Absolutely UNREAL.
I woke to a myriad of orders, and being ecstatic. Lo and behold, all of them were for items I already sold.
I thought it was something I did, but nope. All on them, confirmed by support.
I think this is the last straw for me. Heading to WhatNot.

·3 years agoI had this same issue today. Woke up to a massive flood of sales, all of which I had to cancel and refund because I simply was out of stock or didn't carry the inventory in that quantity. I immediately recounted and reset inventory manually for several hours this morning, then called eBay to deal with the delinquencies.
eBay suggested I reset inventory manually, which id already done, then they opened support tickets for each cancellation to ensure no fees or cancelled orders will appear on my account because of this.

·3 years agoIn another thread, those affected were told to wait and not change a thing. So which is it?

·3 years agosame issue. this is a lot of work. I sell cards and it is very difficult to track the quantities I had.

·3 years agoWtg Khoros.
Move what is a Selling issue to the tech board where no-one will see it.

·3 years agoThis has happened to me as well. Do I start manually changing everything or wait?

·3 years agoI suggest everyone do a routine audit of their inventory.

·3 years agoI always keep a hard copy running balance of my active listings and so far they look okay, but I have yet to check the MV ones.
The last time this happened it was on MV only and if I recall correctly it was after the initial GTC came in and when they renewed they went back to the original listing amounts.
That was a nightmare to clean up (with only an oops sorry from ebay and no assistance) and I really would not want to have to do it again.

·3 years agoWhere are you looking to see if something has multiplied?
I assume it's "quantity" under "active". How do you know which have and which haven't?
Most of my items have quantities of 1, just a handle have variations. My magic numbers are 2, 3, and 4 times. One is 50. Some I can just look at and remember I only have 1 of those in inventory, but others I don't remember. It looks like I'm going to have to spend a whole lot of time going through physical inventory and checking it against the listed quantities.
Any word from Ebay about this glitch yet?
toomuchstuffagain35
·3 years agoI don't see it on mine.
Any common denominators with those who are seeing it?
Is it just on MQ or just on Variations or just on what should be OOS at zero?

·3 years agoI'm wondering if it's related to the switch to Ebay International Shipping from Ebay International Delivery. The only items I've noticed being affected are the items that had Ebay International Delivery set as an option. And today I started getting my first orders using Ebay International Shipping.

·3 years agoIt sounds counter intuitive that a shipping system change should affect other areas, but as we know only too well, this is ebay and it does sound like a lot of glitches have been happening since they started this auto opt in to EIS.

·3 years agoMight have something to do with that. I checked business policies, and ebay created new policies for certain listings. Those are the ones that got all the sold inventory added back into active quantities. The listings that are not in the new policies ebay created are fine.

·3 years agoSeems to be. Shipping and Qty were both revised at same time on all my items. I clicked on revision history in my listing description on a few items and it shows:

·3 years agoMost of the ones that multiplied on mine were single-quantity, without MQ or variations. Though a handful were variations. I don't use the OOS option, so that wouldn't be the common thread.
I looked under the "quantity" under "active" on the seller hub, but there might be an easier way to tell.

·3 years agoI have no variations on my listings, they are all good til canceled listings and not all of the quantities changed, just probably 80% or so.
But when I look at the revision history for when this happened these are some of what I see, I'm laughing at the ones that changed the restocking fee on listings with no restocking fee, can you even charge a restocking fee anymore?
toomuchstuffagain35
·3 years ago@supercharger-parts
do you sell internationally? Are you in EIS?
supercharger-parts
·3 years agoFor many of those listings, yes, but I'm not sure all of them were.
whimsy*collection
·3 years agoYes, same here in both of my stores. A nightmare and lots of emails and refunds. " Sorry this is not in stock..."
whimsy*collection
·3 years agoSame Here - They took all that has sold and added it to existing inventory. If I sold 500 small black and had 10 in inventory, now I have 510 in inventory. 🤦â€â™€ï¸

·3 years agoI looked at mine after reading your comment and that seems to be how my quantity changed as well. What I sold and what I had listed.......good gravy.

·3 years agoYep. Same here. Happened last night. Gonna have some unhappy buyers who just bought some items that were zero quantity before this glitch. 😫
