Is eBay shipping calculating incorrectly? Do I wait it out?
It would be a great day if the shipping label for a 14 pound cast-iron pan was only $6 to $14, however, I know this is not the case. I’ve tried to change the shipper and I’m still getting faulty information. Is anyone else having this issue?

OP5 months agoIt seems like even though it is calculating incorrectly for us as sellers, it looks correct to a buyer. If you have a friend across the country or a family member, maybe have them go on and look at the listing that was weird to you and see if it is appearing with correct shipping. I hope they fix it soon, I’m still seeing oddness today, but I’m trusting that it will be OK

OP5 months agoStill glitching for me today, either gives me very low ball shipping estimates or has the discounted shipping switched with the full cost shipping. It’s a conundrum. I’m just going to keep listing and hope it’s not going to hurt me in the end…

·5 months agoIt's the same here! I'm afraid of listing anything! It doesn't matter what measurements or weight I put in , the price doesn't change! I'm always using the "Sell one like this" feature, and using other sellers' listings as a template, but I've tried creating totally new listings without the "template", and it doesn't matter.
I just got a price and that's it. It's the same for an item which is 1lbs and 1x1x1 and the same for an item as a 35lbs 22x22x22 one.

It's absolutely infuriating and annoying. I don't wanna list anything at all!!

OP5 months agoWhere are you located? I’m in Vermont- if you want to send me an item number I’ll let you know what it’s showing for shipping here. It is scary, especially for those large items- I’ve had a few lately. You can also go to my store (Sparkling Snippets) and look at one of mine- specifically the Princess House roast pan- and see what shipping looks like to your area. The item number is 127762282804. ·5 months agoI am having the same issues with EBay’s calculated shipping estimates being all messed up. I have listings stuck in draft mode because I can’t list them with the crazy estimates they are giving. One listing has shipping costs for 1 oz 10x13x2 estimated at $6.01-$9.88. Another listing I have for 5 lbs 20x14x12 estimates shipping as $5.16-$6.24. There is no way any of this is correct. I jumped on the forums to see if anyone else was having problems too.

OP5 months agoYes, I’m not wanting to list anything today. This started yesterday (I list every day) and a 3 oz 8x6x4 has same shipping estimates as a 40 lb 14 oz 20x14x8. Unless we both are drinking the wrong Kool Aid, there is a problem. I’m going to try to find a number to call. Never had this problem before. 😞 Thanks for making me feel better that I’m not the only one. Ericka

·5 months agoI just used your weight and measurements and tested the purchase of a label going from Boston to Missouri and got $22.35.
I agree that your calculations look quite low but since my own test was more realistic and in line with what I'd expect, I don't know why you're getting such low price estimates.
ETA: Aha! I was typing as @klhmdg posted. And that explains it!

·5 months agoThe cost you are seeing is the cost to ship to yourself (same Zip code)
Not the cost to ship to any Zip code.

OP5 months agoWith all due respect, this is not normal. I have sold over $25,000 in the past year, I have never been scared to list an item. I know there is no way eBay is going to give me the same shipping rate for a 40 lb item versus a 14oz one. Likewise, just ran a 3 oz package at 8x6x4 and the shipping is EXACTLY the same. Something isn’t right.
