·5 months agoThis just started happening to me today May 5th - all was well yesterday - have never had this happen, using most current Firefox browser. Tried to make offers on numerous items. Pulled up some of my own items and the BIN & Make Offer options are missing, only see Add to Watchlist button.
I see the thread was started on 5-1 and this is STILL not fixed...WTH EBAY??? Losing $ here!
I don't want alternatives and workarounds, I/we want this fixed!

·5 months agoThe missing buttons when viewing your own listings is unrelated to the best offer issue.
This is a change for eBay - you can't see those buttons on your own listings, but everyone else CAN see it on your listings. (this is because you can't buy your own items, and you can't put your own items in your own cart)
Here's what I see when I look at your listing

Thank you for your effort, I do appreciate it, but I beg to differ on this point -- I have ALWAYS been able to click my own listings and see the BIN & MAKE OFFER options -- did this several times yesterday and all was normal.

eBay recently changed the link that sellers can see from Seller Hub.
That is not what your buyers see. You can verify this by signing out and viewing your item listings directly.

·5 months agoI first noticed this problem on the afternoon of Sunday April 26th. This is over a week ago and it has been popping up intermittently since. I got the same error using Chrome yesterday and again this morning. Cleared my cache and it made no difference so I tried Firefox and the error persisted.
It looks like a basic programming error whereby the page to be generated after the offer is made for you to confirm it is not being generated so it gives a kinda generic 404 error.
It is pitiful that eBay cannot find a solution to this problem. I assume it is cost all of us sales. And no I am not using their absolutely crappy app. I used it for the first time a few months ago and was surprised ti was so crappy given their attempt over the years to force us all unto it.

·5 months agoThe same make an offer mode not working here since Ebay suffered a large DNS attack last week. Have tried clearing cache and cookies, Edge and latest Firefox browsers, different computers and different internet providers. All come back on all make an offers with "We looked everywhere. Looks like this page is missing..." Called ebay and put uin for a technical work ticket on May 3rd and still the make an offer mode is broken.

Hello everyone,
There is currently an active ALERT16633, that our tech team is working to resolve quickly.
Thank you

·5 months agoThank you Elizabeth for the info. eBay hasn't worked properly on my iPad for over a week (won't load listings and screen size "unsettles" and keeps changing, can't click items.) Now this with Make Offer not available. Frustrating.
elizabeth@ebay
Totally understand the frustration! Would you mind just making sure you have the most updated app version?

·5 months agoSure would be nice if we could get notified when it is resolved. Too bad there's not an eBay Status page listing problems that allows customers to subscribe for a notification on one that's affecting them such as ALERT16633.

·5 months agoebay.ca allows me to make an offer, but ebay.com still does not. That is so weird why eBay as an organization allows such a problem to persist for PC (non-smartphone-app) users in the USA.

·5 months agoI'd wanna know. So I messaged seller. I'll try a few more things and let yall know if I'm able to place a bid before this auction ends in 12 hrs.

·5 months agoI saw it was working yesterday on edge and didn't bid, figured I'd wait till today. Now I'm kicking myself cuz it ain't workin there either. Looks like someone is about to get a killer deal. It's Currently at $26.50 and I want to put a bid in to $56. This is really not fair to the seller, especially if he doesn't even know he's a victim of this site error? Should I message the seller and let him know that this is happening to his auction?
Whacha think?

Are you talking about a bid or an offer? Lately, some users seem to be having problems making offers, but I have not heard of any users having problems bidding provided they have a valid payment method if the seller requires that and they otherwise meet the seller's buyer requirements.
Try another browser or a private or incognito browser window. Or try using the eBay app to make an offer.
If you still have problems bidding, try another device to rule out a device issue. Or try bidding on ebay.ca instead of ebay.com.
gray4420
·5 months agoBidding. It's bidding.
eburtonlab
·5 months agoBidding. It's bidding.
In that case, you may want to start a new thread, since your issue is different than the original poster's.
Try a different browser to rule out a browser issue. Or a private or incognito browser window.
Try a different device to rule out a device issue. Or the eBay app.
Try a different network to rule out a network issue.
Try a different country site to rule out an issue with a specific site.
If you have more than one eBay account, try bidding using another account.

·5 months agoI'm trying to bid on an auction and getting the same thing. It happened the other day too on a make offer....is there any workaround discovered?

·5 months agoIt didn't work with chrome on pc or android, but it did work with Edge (pc)! Just a heads up.

·5 months agoSo I am online with someone in tech support, and they confirmed that this is a technical issue on their end.

·5 months agoI am also using chrome browser, and it still doesn't show up. So I'm pretty sure the app won't resolve this, since this is a server side issue.

At least some users have indicated they were able to make an offer using the eBay app when it was not working in a browser, so in some situations, using the app may be a workaround. The functionality in app and browser may be using different resources and one may work when the other does not.
gigawack
·5 months agoSo is there a resolution to this problem? This is incredibly frustrating, and making both of us want to consider an option outside of using ebay.
eburtonlab

Are you able to make an offer using the eBay app?
gigawack
·5 months agoI don't use the app and I am not putting an app on my phone for this. It worked with the browser forever, so it had better work on the browser today.

·5 months ago@gigawack What is this 'other option' that you as the buyer or the seller, would use to be able to 'make offers'?
A more than obvious 'resolution' would be:
Since both you and the seller agree there's a problem, simply message the seller with the amount and the seller can edit their item adding a 'Buy It Now' with the price both of you agreed on.
MORE than simple.
Ebay is a website and websites have problems all the time. Walmart, US Post Office, Amazon....you name it.
It's a problem that they identified and are working on it.

·5 months agoI am having this problem too, so it looks like I'm not the only one. I am using the Firefox web browser on Linux. Never had a problem like this before. And it's only certain items effected. I tried to submit an offer on another item just to check, and it came up with the offer screen just fine. But on this item, I get this. The seller even tried to send me an offer on it, and I didn't even get that on the listing in my summary. I am assuming this a technical issue on ebay's end on certain items?

If you are using a browser and having problems making offers, try making an offer using the eBay app.
