Ended Items / New Listing / Sell Similar Relists Disappearing Again not to be found....
Summary: Several participants report issues with their eBay listings disappearing after attempting to update or relist them. 44012 describes ending and relisting items but finding some do not reappear in their active listings. shire123 suggests alternative methods, but 44012 insists that listings remain missing. speedfootflips and others, including juliek50701 and sjaneshop, confirm similar experiences, pointing out that the problem seems to be widespread and increasingly discussed on the platform. There is consensus that this may be a technical issue on eBay's end, affecting the visibility and management of listings.
I just ended 10 items this morning to correct titles, pricing etc....
Only 4 items came back to the inactive listings. 6 cannot be found. It has been an hour.
Edit - IN ADDITION - the 4 items that were relisted never showed up in active listings.
Ending listings today = missing ended listings.
New listings today = missing new listings.
End and sell similar today = missing ended and refreshed to sell similar listings

·2 weeks agoMy problem is that I sell a book over the counter, then go immediately to eBay and "end item" then Yes to "are you sure" button, then visually check for the "You have successfully removed an item" note. THEN a month or three later the item sells on eBay. I don't have the item.... Why was it listed? blah blah. I finally sold a book on eBay so close to when I ended it(the length of time my books stay on the inactive list is criminally short). I have the date ended and the order screenshots. ...but I cannot get the chatbot to understand what I want... to get through to the "Would you like us to call you" button....

·2 weeks agosame happening here too. Very frustrating. Hopefully the ones that disappeared can be recovered somehow, but at this point not sure if they can.

·2 weeks agoI have just listed an item (edited from my drafts) and it to didn't show in active listings but on my dashboard it said 1 more listing than my active ones. So it's somewhere! Been an hour since listing and still not showing. I have now ended an item to sell similar and that has vanished completely. This must be a known problem as it is popping up on this message board more as the day goes on. Please help

·2 weeks agoThere might be a time delay for things to appear in the appropriate list.
But why didn't you just "edit" the listing? There should be no need to end a listing to correct anything.
44012
OP2 weeks agoI understand the time delay. I have worked within that constraint before. However, this is different. And more people will comment on it throughout the day.
We review our listings to improve them and giving them a new listing number sometimes gives it a boost in visibility. This is why we chose not to edit after a certain amount of time. I think ebay even suggests this somewhere on this site or during one of the marketing seminars.
shire123
·2 weeks agoThen maybe use the "sell similar" function on your listing? After doing your edits then you can end the previous listing. I believe that creates a new listing number.
44012
OP2 weeks agoYes, that is what I was doing - but you have to end the listings first in order to sell similar.
Ending listings today = missing ended listings.
New listings today = missing new listings.
End and sell similar today = missing ended and refreshed to sell similar listings,
shire123
·2 weeks ago@44012 You don't have to end the listing first as long as you change things in the title. At least that has always been my experience
44012
OP2 weeks ago@shire123 Correct, you can edit all day long and keep the same listing number.
However, we end the listings. We then maintenance the listings. And then we sell similar in order to get a new listing number and a hopeful boost in visibility.
shire123
·2 weeks agoI am saying that if you "list similar" then you can get a new number and you don't have to end the old listing as long as you change things in the title.
I'm not talking about editing.
