Ebay Promotions Do NOT work since the change...
I noticed for the last 2 days that my promoted sales were dropping, worse I have seen. Then I noticed they changed the "advertising" section in seller hub and the complete layout.
So I decided to turn off my old promotions and start new ones just in case that is why promotions is not working properly. Well, now the new campaigns will not work properly. Clicked about 20,000 items for the first campaign, it will only read 1 listing promoted.
My 2nd campaign will have 21,000 other listings, reads 636 items promoted. What a mess...again.

·1 year agoHi, everybody! I have not sold anything-and I mean ANYTHING- in almost two months WITH promoted listings! It could be that I ranted on here about how this 'version' of this site has become horrible, and I have been on here for over twenty years and this is by far the worst I have ever seen it. But I keep plugging away (WHY?) Well, now, when I sell similar and try to change the promoted listing percentage- I had it jacked to 17% out of desperation to make one miserable sale, but I gave up so am trying to lower it to 10 percent- it WON'T LET ME LOWER THE PERCENTAGE!!! I can raise the percentage, but NOT LOWER IT! EBAY had descended to the lowest of the low and I am going to start pulling my listings and selling elsewhere! WHAT A JOKE! My top rated plus seller status will go out the window for lack of sales, THANK YOU EBAY!!!

OP2 years agoAlso, my organic sales have been next to nothing most days, with over 58,000 items to only get 5-10 organic out of 60-75 sales is boooo.

OP2 years agoSo today's issues including slow loading seller hub again, also my 2000 drafts vanish and it take reloading the page several times to get them to return. This scares me every time cause they have vanished for ever before.

·2 years agoIt's kind of sad every time they roll out a new feature you can almost guarantee there will be glitches. Same thing happened to me. Had to end all of my listings and contact eBay. Took 3 days to correct and my sales have not recovered... They are obsessed with fixing things that are not broken.

·2 years agoMy last 5 days have been abysmal. 1 sale if I’m lucky - normally average 8. I dont know what eBay did this time but this is so scary. Im paralyzed after reading this, I was going to mess with promoted but now Im scared to do anything. What eBay is doing to us sellers is criminal.

OP2 years agomade a new campaign, still not working but any new listings are going in there. So I am in the process of ending and selling similar on my entire 58k items.

OP2 years agoStill not fixed, Day 4 and had my lowest day I can remember in years because of this issue. What is ebay going to do about the money I am losing because of this?

OP2 years agoLast 30 day average, $755...halfway through today, $103... EBAY You are costing me money with this issue!!!

·2 years agoI would just say to be careful when using your selling account to post issues or ask questions on the board. I asked about them testing ‘price match feature’ on my account. The comment blew up and whether it is correlated or not, my sales and visibility completely tanked at the start of June and have not recovered.

OP2 years agoI would hope they would not do anything like that after what the company just went through but when ebay will not be upfront about the site issues all one can do is wonder if they would do something like that again.

·2 years agoWhat I'm finding interesting is nearly all my items are promoted with pls, my organic views are way way up(much more than promoted views) and yet EVERY sale is a promoted listing. Odd

·2 years agoJames, my offsite promotions are showing 0 items included now as well. My PLS promotions are showing included items, but there are almost no views or impressions. I am wondering that if when they changed the layout to 'simplify' the advertising dashboard, if they also inadvertently created an issue in how campaigns work?

·2 years agoHi everyone,
It appears this problem is still on-going. Here is some additional testing results from this morning:
1. If you create a new General campaign and add listings, once you turn it off it DOES NOT remove those listings from the campaign. Those listings are NOW stuck in the ended campaign.
2. If you end and sell similar, those listings are now "available" to be added to a campaign. Be careful though, because they would become "stuck" in any campaign that you add them too.
Additional points:
1. We normally let our campaigns run for 30 days. We typically, do a "refresh" on those campaigns just in case there have been changes to the system since we started them and to also adjust the promoted percentage. Note: We have been steadily backing off our Ad Cap rate since April of 2023. From 25% down to 6%. Which means all of our listings are capped at 6% - regardless of the suggested ad rate. We sell business and industrial, auto, small engine and locksmith parts, so this ad cap works for us and makes sense. People are searching for a specific brand and part number vs browsing for a top.
2. When eBay does a major change to anything promoted listings, we have found by doing an "ad-hoc" refresh (outside of the normal 30 days) our sales seem to recover faster.
3. We sell our products across 4 separate sales channels . This helps our sales numbers stay more consistent when eBay is having any issues.

OP2 years agoinstead of doing 1 million impressions, I'm on track to do 200,00 for the day. This stinks man!

·2 years agoHi there, we are having the same issue. We ended our campaigns this morning - but our listings are still showing promoted in the old campaigns. Now all of our listings are stuck. We cannot add any of our listings to a new Promoted General campaign. @elizabeth@ebay @valueaddedresource

OP2 years agoStill not working today, tried 2 campaigns with 20,000 items each. One is promoting 4 items the other, zero.

·2 years agoIn addition to possible issues, I'd just like to share that we have tested many times in the past, and closing old promos/opening new ones that are EXACTLY the same as before, will lead to a loss of momentum.
It creates a situation where you have to be scared of testing things, because just by simply changing rates, you might permanently be damaging the momentum your store has.
This is what happens if we changed rates on a promo, and put the rates back to what they were at in the beginning. a PERMANENT loss of not only promoted, but ALSO ORGANIC TRAFFIC!
Which that itself implies major issues, because promoted rates should NOT be affecting organic traffic at all! The definition of organic is NOT PROMOTED!
So I just want to share that because of eBay's (broken) system that hasn't been fixed for years now, just by changing your promoted rates could have hurt your store. IN ADDITION to any possible issues this new page brought in. Which seems like it brought many major issues since (as usual) the statistics aren't even adding up properly.

·2 years agoAgree with this. Turning off promoted campaigns and starting new campaigns has completely destroyed the traffic to my store. Organic sales were dramatically impacted as well. Sales have collapsed and I am hoping that things pick up once the new campaigns are fully indexed on their site. (?).
