eBay is not displaying sale discount prices
eBay has blocked my sale discounts for going into effect for the last 10 days. It has never taken more than a few minutes for sale discount prices to be displayed in the past. I started one discount on January 16. After several hours, when none of the sale prices went being displayed on eBay, I contacted support to inquire, and was told that it could take 24 to 48 hours. After nearly 3 days, none of the sales prices were in effect, so I contacted support again. I was told it should be fixed within 3 days, and they report it to their technical team and would make it a “priority,†though they told me no one would follow up with me either way. After 4 days, no sale price was displayed. So I gave up, ended the sale discounts, and then started new sale discounts on Jan 24, thinking that starting from scratch might help. After nearly 2 1/2 days, none of the sales prices are displaying.
It does display an “EXTRA 20% OFF†message on each item page, and support tells me the buyer will get a sale discount. But since only the full price is displaying, this is the worst possible world — this means that buyers are willing to pay full price and only realize to their surprise that they will get a sale discount after they check out. No one is buying because of my sale discount. I’m instead giving a discount to people who were willing to pay full price.
I contacted support again today, who admitted it is a "bug" with my account. They are again reporting it to the "technical team," with no estimate of a time frame for a fix. So eBay has indefinitely blocked me from offering sale discounts. There is nothing else wrong with my account.
The first time, support said this was not a "reported bug." I asked again this time if others had reported this problem, and they would not answer. So if you are also experiencing this problem, please coment in this forum, and contact support so they are aware that it is a systemic problem. I expect that they will continue to ignore it otherwise.

OP8 months agoYes, to clarify -- I set a variety of percentages, depending on how long the item has been in the store, starting at 10% and increasing. But they all launched at about the same time. Normally, the full price would be crossed out and the sale price would display. Now it always displays the full price, and buyers would have to notice the "extra" savings message and expect/hope that they sale price will appear when they check out. I doubt most people would notice that or do the extra mental calculation to figure the sale price. They never had to do that before -- the sale price is normally displayed very visibly and obviously. So they may ultimately pay the sale price but only after preparing to pay full price -- in other words, I'm giving sales prices only to people ready to pay full price, which is stupid and killing my sales.
eBay support acknowledges there this is a bug with my account, but they can't or won't fix it. If they continue to ignore it, I don't see how to get around it, without closing my store and starting a new one with a different account, hoping sales discounts will work with a fresh account.

A bit confused... I see 'EXTRA 10% OFF' on the listings that I ticked. So, using your 'Prophetic Poet' listing... I'd expect $249 less $24.90 (at checkout) with a BIN. 🤔
