eBay International Shipping
On July 20 I received an email about the new "eBay International Shipping". Key features given include: 'Shipping you can trust', 'Hassle-free returns and 'Tracking for every order.
Since then, I've made 2 international purchases and both of them completely failed to deliver, tracking was barely existent, and contacting the seller resulted in them both telling me that they don't know anything about international shipping with eBay.
I'm beginning to think my days of using eBay may be numbered. Shipping now is unreliable, more expensive, and prone to failure.
Does anyone know how to get in touch with actual eBay customer service, where someone can actually help?
Also, how do I let eBay know that their new touted International Shipping is a complete and utter failure?

·2 years agoThere will be two different tracking numbers for EIS, the first is from the seller to the International Hub and then a secondary one from the Hub to Canada. Once it leaves the Hub and is in transit to Canada there can be a dead zone for the tracking until such time as it passes through customs and is handed over the the last mile delivery service.
It's not clear if you did finally receive the two orders, if not and the estimated delivery window has passed you should open an Item Not Received claim which you can do from this page:

As far as the price, EIS isn't a bargain but it's in the same ballpark as shipping directly via USPS. It is definitely a bit slower than direct shipping simply because it's a two step process.
While sellers should know how they are shipping some don't really pay attention and many were opted in automatically to EIS. It probably means that they would not even offer International shipping is EIS was not available so at least you had the opportunity to purchase.

OP2 years agoSo, I definitely did not receive the purchases. Happily, the sellers issued refunds but, that's not the point.
The tracking did hit a dead zone, and never did update past the border at all.
My major concern is that when i contacted the sellers, they could provide no details whatsoever regarding the shipping details. And of course, eBay 'customer service' is similarly useless in this regard.
I'm getting tired of pointlessly spending money only to have it returned.

OP2 years agoThanks for the info.
Alas, it's inaccurate.
Tracking works fine for the first leg, but once it gets into Canada, the tracking indicates nothing, and never advances. What's worse, it doesn't indicate who the carrier is.
Basically, as I said initially, it's useless, and in fact worse that it was before.
And no, I did not receive any of my purchases.
Sadly, I may be done with Ebay...
