Description Templates "Insert" Action Doesn't Insert Anything Between

Attempting to uniformly use description templates with my team and noticed that while on Safari, the description template was inserting all wrong. Turns out that anything between <meta> or <style> tags gets removed when using insert. It still shows up correctly if you manually paste the html tag after the fact (while in "Edit HTML" view). It works properly on Firefox.
Any way to fix this, please?
