Checkout not populating my credit cards on file as options. Only providing PayPal, Venmo, Google Pay etc. Please Fix!!
Summary: ajs_coins_and_alchemy reported an issue with checkout options not displaying saved credit cards on a platform, leaving only PayPal, Venmo, and Google Pay visible. therebelslacker experienced a similar issue, which was resolved by using incognito mode in Edge. eburtonlab suggested checking browser versions and trying incognito mode, which led ajs_coins_and_alchemy to solve their issue by deleting cookies. Multiple participants shared similar experiences, attributing the issue to browser settings or platform glitches. While some managed to fix the problem by clearing cookies, others continued to face difficulties, sparking frustration and discussions about the platform's customer service and reliability.
Strange glitch?? FIX THIS!!!
Trying to checkout. Went to pay and the "Pay With" section currently shows Klarna, PayPal, Venmo, Add New Card, Google Pay or PayPal Credit. (See screenshot below)
For obvious reasons, I won't post screenshots of my credit cards on file ... but I've got more than half a dozen credit cards on file, all still showing on my Account Settings as Payment Methods ... and they also all appear for split payment if I click "Split payment between two cards" ...
Normally there is a list of literally 8 or 9 cards mixed into the screen below with PayPal & Venmo and GPay.
I'll split payments if I have to, or use card through PayPal if needed for the time being, but this needs to get fixed quick.

·1 month agoI'm on the latest version of Firefox and I tried Chrome as well and my CC do not show up at the checkout but I can see them on file and they are active. Also, the "add cc" button does not work either. I was able to chat with a real human and I uploaded screenshots for them to see the issue. They said that they are working on it and to try again tomorrow.
... we'll see...

·1 month agoThis is EXACTLY what was happening to me on last Thursday....I resale coins I buy for my customers and NEED to purchase them on ebay as I have always done and when I CHOOSE a payment that I select...either PayPal which goes to my bank account OR CREDIT CARD...but I had a CHOICE....now I do not???? it is STUCK on my PayPal for paying for everything and I am NOT able to select my credit card that is on file??? it has completely blocked that option out??? and also it keeps on saying add a new card?? when my card is completely perfect till 2029....I have contacted ebay bye phone late Thursday night to report the issue only to get some lady ( from India) it sounds like and GOD HELP me that I hope my account is safe when looked into even tho she works for ebay it does NOT make me feel safe when their workers have kids and dogs yelling in the background and yet ebay seems to go abroad for their pone help?? instead of keeping where it belongs if the folks live in the USA than god forbid keep the darn customer help within the SAME COUNTRY in this case the USA and NOT some other Foreign place...but alas she was the one I got and said it was a clitch and it would be fixed??? well it HAS NOT BEEN FIXED and ebay is known to not give a hoot either??...now it is the main weekend of sales for me for my customers and when I called today and spoke with ( thank god a USA customer person this time )...I told him NOW??? I cannot even SELECT my credit Option?? for it won't let me...he said to go into my manage my account preference and select how I want to pay for my items of the first choice...well this was done already long ago but I did it again anyways of having credit card first and than bank second...it even shows that as my choice...yet??? on the check out page it will not let me use my credit card and has that damn message of saying update your credit card and add a new one??? ebay for me after being on this platform for over 25 years has gone into the toilet...they have folks that do not care to work on issues that occur like this....now they tell me it will be 24 to 48 hours for it to be fixed and they gave me a ticket. I said this needs to be fixed sooner than that since this holiday weekend is my biggest time for buying items for my customers and as of right now I am about to loose 43 of them?? from this delay that is a ongoing cllitch ?? the answer is they do NOT care and said it will be 24 to 48 hours?? my reply is that it that happens I will wait till I can get all of my recent orders to me and leave feedback for my sellers and than tell everyone I am changing to a different platform for buying that does not have lazy customer helpers and fixers that seem to just be there but don't do a damn thing to fix the issues......25 years I been on here and even that time they care not to fix issues.....I have spoken with other sellers and buyers alike that they are leaving the ebay platform due to these ongoing issues and their high sellers fee's as well as their now high ship fee's they are making sellers do...yep folks it is time to change platforms for sure cause ebay has proven they do not give a hoot to anything but wanting to line the higher up's pockets...yet we as buyers and sellers were what made them even existsthink on that...I know this is long to read but it tells the whole facts and issues that are happening and ebay is doing NOTHING about any such clitch fixing....Linda

·1 month agoSame thing just happened to me. WHY WHY WHY does eBay constantly screw up things that were working fine before???
ajs_coins_and_alchemy
OP1 month agoIf this is happening to you ... delete your eBay cookies (or all cookies works too but is likely unneccessary). It worked for me
If you don't know how to delete cookies or eBay specific cookies ... google it. 😄 thats what I did.
Thank you eburtonlab, guru of all things computer

How have you determined this to be exclusively on eBay's side? As I stated, it worked for me, so obviously wasn't in my case. My credit cards have returned. It was a quick, easy & immediate fix for me. I never said it'll work for everyone for sure but it's sure worth a try.
.... but I'm not sure how multiple people can experience the same exact unique issue in the same time frame but it be supposedly stemming from totally different causes all at the same time? That sounds too coincidental.
Hopefully people are actually deleting cookies and not merely search history or something.

·1 month agoThe same exact thing is happening to me. I tried Chrome.Firefox and Edge and I have no payment information when I check out even though they are all saved in my profile. I had to use the app on my phone to pay for something.

·1 month agoI did that and they still are not coming up for me? Not on Chrome, Edge or Firefox. It works fine in the app on my phone.

·1 month agoGood to know it was just the eBay cookies causing it. I’ve run into similar browser glitches where everything looks fine in the account but checkout behaves differently. Clearing site cookies is definitely worth trying before changing payment methods.

Browser or app? Latest version?
Any difference if you try another browser? Or a private or incognito browser window?
I opened a private browser window and went to checkout just now and saw my credit cards shown as they should be.
You could also try checking out on ebay.ca to see if that works better.
Edited to add: I think in the eBay app I had to use a "See all options" link to see each individual card.

OP1 month agoInitial post was regarding chrome browser.
Latest version? Uhh, I assume so? New computer as of the past month so newest version download as of past month. LOL.
Just tried chrome browser on phone and all credit cards populated ... out of the office right now.
App definitely requires "see all options" but i don't know if that's unusual or not because I can basically count on one hand how many times I've checked out on the app. Literally 1000's of checkouts via desktop.

·1 month ago · EditedPossibly a Chrome issue; I see credit cards using Firefox, but not in Chrome using a desktop browser or a mobile browser.
Card numbers appear in Edge.
Try manually erasing just your eBay cookies in Chrome.
ajs_coins_and_alchemy
OP1 month agoChrome issue. Deleted eBay cookies and BAM credit cards appear and totally separate issue noted below (couldn't do ebay incognito) resolved.
THANK YOU!!!

·1 month agoExact same thing happened to me & just since late last night. Had 3 credit cards on file for many years & now they're gone! e-Bug strikes again!!! I wondered if I was the only one, but now I'm sure others are going through this.

·1 month agoUpdate: It's Microsoft Edge that I use for eBay & that is where I'm not seeing my credit cards on the checkout page. I did check & I have the latest version of the browser. Oddly enough, the cards do show up when I go to checkout page on Google Chrome.
eburtonlab
·1 month ago · EditedDo the cards appear in Edge using a private or incognito browser window?
If so, this may be a cookie issue.
I see card numbers in Chrome again after manually erasing eBay cookies.

Don't get me started on trying to access eBay through Incognito. I used to (on my old computer) have one eBay account open in regular Chrome window and had another account open in Incognito.
Ever since I've tried on my new computer, the moment I log into ebay on Incognito, it shuts down / closes all my Chrome browsers. (incognito & regular). Then when I reopen chrome it says the typical "Chrome didn't shut down properly ... restore?"
Even if I log out of ebay on regular chrome and try to log in to my accnt in Incognito, same thing. I haven't gone back to try on my old laptop but it's just very strange that this only seemed to become a thing since I got my new computer ... could be coincidental but I'm not sure I believe that.

OP1 month agoHAH! I deleted cookies and now I can log into eBay in Incognito ... WOW ...
