Changing Buyers and False timestamps?
Summary: detw7118 is concerned about inconsistencies in bid times and bidder identification on a platform. They noted that some bids seemed to be out of order, and bidder usernames looked different. eburtonlab clarified that the bid history is organized by bid amount rather than time, explaining that higher earlier bids can appear later in the listing. They also mentioned that bidder usernames are obscured, but feedback numbers indicate different accounts.
I have included two screen shots from a bid I just did. As you can see, the times that are in the bid time make no sense as some of the bids would have happened hours after bid that occurred after it. The other thing you will note is that the other bidder(s) n***6 and 1***6 are clearly not the same bidder. Are we having AI issues here, a computer glitch or other malfunction on the webpage? [Sorry my text is in the middle. IF i put it anywhere else it kept deleting one of the screenshots. ]

·1 month agoLearn about proxy bidding where a bidder places a bid for his maximum price and Ebay shows a bid for the next increment, and when another buyer bids if it is below that seller's maximum will bid again on behalf of the first seller.

eBay bid history is sorted by amount, not by time.
An earlier higher bid will beat a later, lower one.
Keep in mind that eBay only shows enough of the highest bidder's bid amount to beat the second highest bidder's maximum bid by up to one bid increment. So bidders do not necessarily know how high they have to bid to beat the current high bid.
eBay obscures bidder usernames, but if two bids are from bidders that have different feedback numbers, they are bids from different accounts.
