Changes Causing Sellers & Buyers To MISS Sales / Purchases (not receiving "Offers" in "Messages")

As a buyer, I have recently encountered repeated occurrences where both the buyer and the seller are not receiving Offers through the eBay "Messages" tab, resulting in not being aware they have received offers. I have seen several scattered posts on the Community message board, of some eBay members experiencing the same or related issues. I am posting this to help fellow buyers and sellers who may not be aware of this yet, in hopes that they might not miss any sales/purchases (or perhaps it might help explain why they may have accidentally missed offers or not received any response). Here are the major points regarding what is occurring that is preventing both buyers and sellers making desired sales:
Offers:
There may have been some new changes made to the eBay "Messages" tab, where Offers are not being sent there. Apparently, a buyer and a seller must take the additional step of manually clicking into the eBay "Bids/Offers" tab to purposefully see if you have (or have not) have received any new Offers, or randomly scroll over the "Bell icon" to see new Offers that have been sent. I have received offers from sellers, but they are not arriving in my "Messages" tab. They are only viewable by intentionally clicking in the the "Bids/Offers" tab (which I have traditionally never done), or hovering over the "Bell icon." Like most eBay members, I have been dependent on the eBay "Messages" tab to learn of Offers coming in. Now no longer being in the "Messages" tab (ie. an alert message advising you have received an offer), this results in a seller and/or a buyer accidentally over-looking an Offer, because they might not even be aware they received one, if they are expecting it to only arrive in their "Messages" tab (as they typically always have and apparently no longer will).
Example: I became aware of this issue after I sent two very desirable buyer Offers to 2 different sellers that went unanswered, as in neither accepted, declined or countered. I know they can choose to ignore and not respond to an offer, but since I typically find that to be rare, I began wondering if this could be part of a "Messages" communication issue (ie. they are possibly not receiving my original buyer's offer/not aware they won't be seen in the "Messages" tab; currently only visible by either clicking into the "Bids/Offers" tab or by hovering over the "Bell icon"). Also, I received NO confirmation "You submitted an offer" message from eBay in "Messages" as they usually send, after I sent each of these recent buyer offers to the sellers. There are other user posts reporting they too are experiencing no such messages from eBay in "Messages." According to a post on eBay's Community message board by another seller entitled "Has anyone else experienced no offer notifications in their eBay messages?," he says he lost 30 sales offers he was not aware of because offers were no longer being sent to the "Messages" tab. Another good post with information about this issue is entitled: "No Best Offers appearing in my eBay message."
Counteroffers:
Some eBay member here are reporting they are also not receiving messages regarding counteroffers (again missing sales). As I am a buyer and not a seller, my only experience is with my purchase Offers not being seen, so there is no counteroffer in that instance.
Inquiry To Seller:
I recently asked a very reliable seller (through the eBay "Messages" tab), whom I have had very positive contact with before a question about an item they have for sale. I had no reply back from them as I normally would. Given the unusual issue with Offers, I am wondering if my general inquiry through the eBay "Message" tab is successfully reaching them? I see my sent message to them shows in my "Messages," but it seems untypical that there would be no reply at all (ie. like they might have not received it to be able to reply to).
Whatever is going on (especially until mass buyers and sellers learn that live, active Offers will not be found in the "Messages" as many rely on), there are going to be many missed sales, which is very detrimental to buyers, and from a financial income standpoint, to sellers and to eBay. I am hesitant to send any purchase offers right now, as my opportunity to send my best price offer may accidentally go unseen or unavoidably unaddressed.

·2 weeks agoI have lost MANY potential sales because of notification issues I've set it to allow all notifications in every possible way so I don't miss any, yet still it seems every time I come back I have expired offers!! Beyond frustrating and makes me rethink the effort of listing on eBay when my work is not paid off with something as simple as a clear notifications around offers...
