Can't put in Condition in Vintage Clothing
Trying to list a Vintage Dress under Vintage Clothing: Dresses, it's asking for Condition but won't let me put the condition in so I can't list. Yesterday, I listed and put Condition under the description. Tried on my laptop and phone app. Is the a glitch that eBay is working to fix?

·11 months agoI usually do my eBay listings using the Marketplace Connect app on Shopify. It has NOT been fixed there, or at least not completely. Vintage dresses do not cross over, with Error message of "Condition data is required for selected category 175784". I was able to list vintage shoes yesterday via the app with no error message, but dresses - no.
I will be asking Shopify Help to file a ticket with eBay for their app. This info has been very helpful - thanks!

·11 months agoHi @devon@ebay - please review above reports since yesterday. Is there a sitewide ticket open on this yet? Sellers cannot create or revise listings in the Vintage Clothing category due to a condition field error.

File a tech report - it's fast and easy and eBay does review these reports. The more people reporting, the higher priority the issue will get in the fix queue.
On the web:
Click the ? icon on the bottom right corner of almost any eBay page and that will trigger the option to file a tech report, submit feedback to eBay, and more. Screenshots here.

Hey @wastingtime101! I saw this thread and others earlier today and I have reached out to the Product team. As of now I have not yet seen any tickets open on this issue but I will be sure to keep yourself and others updated as more information is shared.

·11 months agoUpdate to everyone this has effected. I reported this issue a few times also talked to a customer service agent today who escalated it becuase he said it is a site issue. Hopefully it gets resolved soon. He said try listing again In 48 hours in vintage category. Kindof a drag. But hopefully this gets handled. Anyone this affected keep reporting the issue. So it get handled sooner the better.

There is a known issue with the Vintage Clothing category specifically. eBay is aware of the problem. Check this thread for updates. If you want to report the problem you can follow the steps shown above.

·11 months agoIt's a weird setup. Because condition is not (yet) required for that category you still have the dash on the left under condition, and when you click on that it gives you a list of options to choose from that match the regular clothing categories.
It also shows conditions off to the right (that's the weird part) and if you click the 3 dots it will pull up the condition choices.
Looking into my crystal ball: I'll bet in the future eBay is going to require condition in that category and you'll be ahead of the curve if you fill it out now rather than wait for a change.

·11 months agoI am also having the error message when I have filled out the condition and also typed in the condition box. Only on vintage. I just reported the problem.

·11 months agoI am having the same issue with condition error even though I have the condition in the condition box. I changed the category to non-vintage and there is no error. Hope this gets corrected soon......very frustrating.

·11 months agoI am messaging eBay right now. it seems to be an error on eBay's end with the vintage clothing category specifically. Very frustrating. Will update if I hear any updates on their end.

·11 months agoFinished the communication; they have now been made aware (I also sent them this thread directly to be extra sure they had eyes on the issue) and are currently fixing it and said it should be amended soon!!

OP11 months agoThanks, I thought it was only me having the problem. Been working with eBay Business on Facebook to try and get this fixed, so far everything they have had me try does not work. There is a Tech ticket I opened hours ago. Still nothing.

Bulk editor error message:
Condition data is required for selected category 175771. (2)
Edit listings individually error message:
Looks like something is missing or invalid. Please fix any issues and try again.

OP11 months agoI've tried my Laptop and though I can type in the Condition there it still won't list it. No problem listing under non vintage clothing category.

·11 months agoWhen you hit the submit button, are you getting an error message? Or is the listing publishing but the condition field is left blank?
If the latter, what happens if you edit the listing to add the info?
Do you have another listing in that category with condition filled in? If yes, what happens when you 'sell similar' from that listing?

·11 months agoI just tested and didn't have any problems entering a condition in the vintage dresses category and saving the draft using Firefox on a Mac.
What's happening - can you type in the condition box?
Have you tried a different browser?

OP11 months agoIt won't let me type in the Condition box on my phone App, will let me on my laptop but neither will take it and let me complete the listing.

OP11 months agoI've even reinstalled the eBay app, still doesn't work, I put in a Technical issue ticket. Please put one in as the more tickets, they will hopefully fix it

·11 months agoI've been listing all evening, and this also just happened to me in the Children's vintage dresses. It was fine in the a few other vintage categories I've used earlier.
It will not list, simply giving error about condition. Historically, there is not a condition choice in this category. Only an explanation box. There is still not a choice, but it is attempting to force a choice, which cannot be chosen.
