According to a post on the UK community boards, the latest version of the eBay app requires Android 10 or later, or iOS 17 or later.

There is another version of the app available for iOS 16 users; see here:
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Mobile-Apps/How-to-update-your-eBay-app/m-p/34920437#M50572
A possible workaround for iOS 15 users is suggested here:

Some iOS 18 users in Italy are reporting problems with the app crashing.
If you cannot upgrade your operating system or find an older version of the app that works with your current operating system, you should still be able to use a browser to go to ebay.co.uk or ebay.it instead.
If eBay browser links are opening in the Android version of the app automatically, you can disable that by going to your device Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default: Opens supported links and choosing "Don't open in the app". iOS users can tap and hold an eBay browser link and choose "Don't open in the app". Or just delete the eBay app entirely.

OP1 year agoIdeally Need to use the app it’s so much easier
hopefully another update comes out soon or it rectifies itself

·1 year agoIt might be worth trying to uninstall the eBay app, restarting your device, then installing the latest version of the eBay app again.
If that does not help, use a browser or a different device until there is another update.

OP1 year agoIv deleted it. Re downloaded it. Re booted my phone
just get the same scenario no text or the “something went wrongâ€

·1 year agoRebooting between uninstalling and reinstalling ensures a clean install, which may matter if the problem is caused by a previous installation not going smoothly.

OP1 year agoJust deleted. Switched phone off then redownloaded still the same
will just have to ride it out and hope they fix the app in the near future

·1 year agoHi @lamcq33 . When making the updates, are you using mobile data or wifi? If you're using mobile data, switch to wifi and try again. Sometimes downloading with your phone's data causes issues.
