Bidder blocked by "Country to Which I do Not Ship" when in fact I do
I am really mystified by something I discovered myself last night. I glanced at my Buyer Requirements Activity Log while looking up something else, and was surprised to find a blocked bid entry for my listing 334981686457 which ended last night.
Several things surprised me:
- My listing does not restrict Shipping to any country outside of the usual defaults. It especially does not block Australia, where this bidder is registered.
- The reason for blocking the bid was "Buyers in countries to which I don't ship." This is the first time I have ever seen any other reason given besides the usual "Too many Unpaid items."
- The bidder's ID was shown in the clear, not disguised as in the usual Unpaid items on that page.
The blocked bidder is actually a past customer of mine who has bid and/or bought multiple previous items with no problems, so I sent him a message to ask if he had indeed been blocked from bidding, and he said he had. He added that he sends his purchases to a Texas-based reshipper, so international shipping should not be a factor anyway.
From the timestamp of when the block occurred, I can see that I lost money on the final sale price due to this blocked bid. I wouldn't have noticed it at all if I hadn't been looking at my Activity Log. I can't think of anything to do to resolve it beyond adding that user ID to my Buyer Requirements Exemption List for the future, though I don't know if that's going to help. Comments welcome...

·2 years agoI came seeking an answer to the same question. I also happened to notice that your activity occurred on the exact same day mine did. I had many in August, a few as late as Sept 5, 2023 but none after. Interesting....
