eBay is being overran by idiots who can't list in the correct category and eBay won't even abide by the rules that they themselves have set. A listing "free-for-all"..... list dirty underwear in the jewelry sections. Sell comic book's in the automotive section. According to eBay...this is ok. Thanks to AI I'm done.............

·2 years agoI agree the search engine seem to just grab everything regardless of the search request, I check thing out often for what may interest me and will type in specific information to search for then start scrolling down thru to see what I may want, and am amazed at the items that have no connection at all to what I was searching for...but there is a work around here while ebay has it out of wack, when you use google or firefox etc to search for what you are looking for BINGO they do it with a much greater deal of being accurate....add to that the fact that ebay keeps changing things, adding this removing that, moving things that cannot be found etc etc sellers just give up trying to just simply list something and just fling it in there with the least degree of resistance(this is human nature like water it will flow in the path of least resistance), this will continue until ebay simplifies and makes it user friendly. I am a veteran seller with 27 years and it makes me shake my head, so I cannot imagine the frustration a noobie will have listing an item...

·2 years agoActing on seller complaints about other sellers is not an efficient way to police the site, and is not used by Ebay or other marketplaces.
It neither gets all of the violations nor is economically sound.
Your expectation is unreasonable.

Try searching using keywords instead of just browsing a category, and those miscategorized items will not bother you as much. You may never see them at all.
Using relevant keywords, changing the category if necessary, and then adding some filter options can quickly remove lots of irrelevant listings from your results with just a little effort.
If you provide an example of what you are looking for and what sorts of things you want to avoid, someone may be able to provide some practical search links to help you out and save you a lot of unnecessary frustration.
There will always be some users that don't take the time to list the right item in the right category, but just because some users are inconsiderate or clueless does not mean that has to stop you from using eBay.

·2 years agoSorry but if you're making reports and they are found by the bots to be ok, not much you can do about it. I have also had that happen reporting things.
Sorry to see you go, hope you have better luck on whatever venue you choose to shop, but it really isn't necessary to announce your departure.
