30 Days of listing I get "Where's all the stuff? Our homepage is down, but the rest of eBay is fine"
Fellow sellers- For about 4 weeks now this is the constant situation I have to deal with. eBay works fine for me on all other levels all day, messaging customers, giving refunds, checking on my own bids and purchases. But as soon as I try to list, BAM, it just shuts down....for about 10 - 20 minutes, then I can list one thing. I try to list a similar item within minutes and sometimes I can list several things in a row then BAM shut down again for another 10 - 20 minutes. None of this makes sense. I use a new-ish Dell laptop, I do not have a VPN, I have Windows 11, I use Google Chrome, and every single other website I use regularly besides eBay is working just fine, this is a 100% eBay problem connected specifically to a seller attempting to list an item, maybe it is embedded in the photo uploading as part of the listing, but the whole site goes down EXCEPT the Community Boards where I can complain about it. Many other threads about this have nice folks offering fix-its, but many have said none of the fix-its work. The point of this is for the eBay Tech Support folks to pay attention and acknowledge that this is a problem on their end, I personally have had to forgo about a 100 - 200 listings these past weeks as it just takes too long. I live in the SF - San Jose Bay Area near the eBay headquarters and some others have said the same so it may be specific to their local servers in the Bay Area. But it has been ongoing for about 4 weeks and this is just tedious beyond belief, and ultimately a loss of revenue for sellers and eBay.

·2 years agoI hope I don't jinx myself here but the issue seems to have been corrected for me. I am listing with the VPN on with no problems for 2+ days now. I posted on another thread about what I did and it seemed to be instantly fixed.....but that could be just pure coincidence. I sure wish Ebay would post something about this and if they actually did anything to fix it. My 3 browsers have updated several times in the last 3 days....so maybe it was a bug withing Microsoft that was causing it. Is anyone still experiencing the issue today? Try to force updates on your browser (you may not see it done automatically until you restart). Please post if you are still having the problem.

I still see it (Friday, June 21, 10:30PM) with VPN on and adding 10 pictures to a draft. 8 pictures worked. And the post from @toysfurniturelamps reported observing the problem at 3PM (also Friday, June 21).
My wife and I saw the little orange boy (same jacket, same color, same hood over the head) yesterday here in the SF Bay Area. He was crossing the street in downtown Burlingame (with his eyes on his cell phone, perhaps uploading images).

·2 years agoLOL...maybe he was trying to list his tri-cycle but not able to get a live listing uploaded! Next time you see the little puke, give him a swift kick for me!
I did have it happen one time last night. I was changing orientation of 3 pics. I did not wait until the first one stopped spinning before doing the others. When they all 3 stopped spinning, I tried to save and got the parka puke. I closed my browser and opened it back up, typed in ebay.com (not my saved shortcut) and my account popped right up....all the pics were there in the draft, but did not take the orientation changes on any of the three. I changed one at a time until it stopped spinning and hit save....no problems from there. I really do think this entire issue revolves around the uploading of pictures now. Try waiting a few minutes after you upload pics even though it appears they are uploaded. That seems to be working for me.....for now.

I think @pcobra93 has refined the issue significantly with this advice to "wait a few minutes" for images to be ready to be saved in a draft (i. e., just looking for the spinning arrows to go away is not sufficient).
I have a set of 14 pictures that I include in drafts to evaluate this problem. I have never been able to successfully save more than 8 of them at one time without getting the orange boy. To test the "wait" idea, I put all 14 into a listing and went to lunch without saving a draft. I came back and did a "save for later." It worked perfectly—14 images saved and no orange boy.
The "wait" idea would fit with the previous observations about turning VPN off and doing only 4-5 pictures at a time. It might also explain inconsistencies like turning off VPN working for some people but not for others or some sellers/listings not being affected at all.
If this is correct, the spinning arrows are a false indicator, suggesting to the seller that a draft can be saved successfully when it cannot. And whatever happened 6 weeks ago must have reduced the "image saving time" margin sellers had previously enjoyed.

OP2 years agoAlthough if the option to wait a few minutes after uploading/saving photos works for some sellers, more power to them and that is great.
However, in my case that seems to have nothing to do with it. Generally, I only upload one picture to my listing, so I tested the picture theory a few times in previous weeks by clicking another eBay page after I had started a new listing, and eBay was down again immediately before I did anything at all, before any new pictures or changes to title/description. It is the "sell similar" or anything related to simply starting a new listing, nothing about the listing itself that triggers eBay to shut down for the next 5 - 20 minutes.
At this point I am convinced that deep inside eBay's security system in a place none of us see, those of us being affected have an unknown to us Client ID ending in -00 or -99 or - 17 or some random number that freezes the credentials log-in or puts it in a loop of verifications / a Time Out of some kind. Therefore 99 out of 100 sellers can list with no problem and those of us affected have zero ability to do anything when it comes to browsers settings / VPN on or off / WiFi or other internet speed issue. Other than the issue not seeming to affect the mobile app, which most of us high volume sellers don't / can't use to list, it has nothing to do with our computers or systems.
This point that it is an eBay issue should be clear as no one having issues with eBay has said anything about having issues with any number of log-in / password sites with https:// configurations. I personally use at least 5 - 10 https:// secure sites per day and only eBay has been failing to operate properly now for the past 8 weeks or so.

[Result: I started 2 eBay windows and then started a listing from scratch in one. I dragged one photo to the listing and then checked the other eBay window. It was OK. Then a saved the one-picture draft and it completed normally. I checked the other eBay window and it was still OK.]

This only happens to some sellers when trying to list or edit listings; it does not happen to buyers as far as anyone knows. The site does not actually go down, it is just that the seller trying to list or edit loses the connection to eBay for some time.

·2 years agoWhile people have called this a listing error, it's a wider system error.
I get the little raincoat boy (We have nicknamed Little Pierre on another board) when searching listing BEFORE I try to do a sell similar. I will search my own listings, and when I select a listing to do a "Sell Similar" listing of a new item, I get the error. So that means that buyers are seeing this error and are being locked out of buying our items!
I also get the refusal to save error upon trying to save a new listing. And when I end that and go to my drafts, a draft exists but is incomplete. I can go through this several times, and have to walk away and come back later to get it to finally accept a listing. This is not the least bit productive for us, and is costing us money. I believe the sudden loss of sales volume is also tied to this. Buyers get the error and simply go away.
This has been going on since eBay did their last security update. I have been involved in both pharmaceutical company and financial company internal systems, both of which are highly regulated. IF there was an error like this in my world, it never would make it to production. It would have shaken out in the testing phases. AND, if indeed it got to production, the system should be rolled back to the prior version until they can sort out the issue. Somehow that doesn't happen here.
It seems eBay programmers are working on live software! A big no no in the industry! Ever notice that you will be doing a listing session and the form will change mid session? And they probably have different teams making changes to the same functions that effect the other team's effort.
I'm wondering what laws eBay software functionality is covered under. I'd think the financial industry standards and regulations due to the enormous amount of financial transactions. This would put them in violation and they'd have government regulators all over them. Imagine if this happened with your bank's software? Pretty much the same thing.
So where are we right now? We as sellers, are paying to use defective software that is affecting our abilities to transact business. There needs to be compensation. I'd go for suspension of store fees until this is resolved as a starter. And once resolved, doubling of free listings for six months.

Buyers are not using that "sell similar" link, they are just looking at the listing directly, so I am not sure why you are concluding that buyers are running into the same error you are when you list.
I have not seen any reports that buyers are being "locked out" when trying to make a purchase, only reports from some sellers having problems listing or editing photos.

This issue does not seem to be acknowledged in the tech report posted today at the top of this message board thread. Tonight, this has been very bad for me, I had a few recent nights where there was some time when it would not go down for 5 - 7 listings in a row, tonight it is going down for at least 10 minutes between each of my listings. There is no pattern to any part of it I can see other than as soon as I click "sell similar item" or "revise item" or opening any page to list an item, it goes into the "Where's all the stuff? Our homepage is down, but the rest of eBay is fine" mode for at least 10+ minutes, then comes back up, allows me to list my item (which I had kept in a separate open tab), everything works fine, then I prepare another listing and have to wait 10-20 minutes to post it. I don't really care whose problem it is. I just want to know why some users can list and some can not. Saying "it's eBay's fault" does not answer that question.
If the users-that-currently-can't-list do things the way that users-that-can-list do things, can they list successfully, too? Knowing that is much more useful than whether someone "admits" to something.
I'd rather have a workaround and no admission that an admission and no workaround.

I have been doing listings again, and if I only upload 3-4 pictures before doing a save of the draft, I'm OK. Also, I find that large MP4 files can be uploaded and saved in a draft without crashing the listing page.
Another user (unfortunately I don't have the OP ID at hand) works around the problem by doing all the text parts of a listing on their laptop and then finishes the listing by uploading all the photos using a cell phone.
Neither of these approaches are real solutions, but they are helpful in the interim and help identify/narrow the issue.
As a user who is one of the many who has been affected by this, I sure would like to know what the problem is. Either eBay or somebody else did something 6 weeks ago that caused this problem. In either case, eBay should want to get to the bottom of it and should let frustrated users know that it shares their focus on the problem.

https://downdetector.com/status/ebay/
Whenever eBay is actually down, there are hundreds or thousands of reports within minutes.
Something about the way you are listing your item is causing your individual connection to eBay to be interrupted or blocked, but eBay is still reachable for everyone else while that is happening to you.

·2 years agoI've changed nothing about the way I list and this all started weeks ago.
Just because you have changed nothing does not mean that nothing has changed. The problem may well be due to something that eBay did, but the point is that it is not affecting everyone equally, and many are apparently not affected at all. Some users are able to list without any errors or interruptions. Perhaps the difference is due to something entirely out of your control such as your geographic location or your network provider or the eBay server you are connecting to; but perhaps there is something you could do differently to avoid the errors.
There are lots of people experiencing the same thing.
Yes, but each one is experiencing the problem independently. Your connection does not go down at random or when someone else lists an item -- it only goes down when you are listing an item -- and not every time, apparently. Perhaps listing in a different way can avoid the errors.

·2 years agoListing from sell similar, starting from scratch and listing from drafts all have these issues. So what other way is there to list?
What are you doing differently from the users that are not having problems? It might be something out of your control -- like which eBay server you are connecting to -- though if that were the case I would expect that eBay would notice that right away in their server logs, and the issue would have been quickly corrected.
Whatever the problem is, it must not be something that eBay can quickly identify from eBay's end or correct or eBay would likely have done that by now.
It might be something else related to your network connection. Perhaps all the users affected are either using a VPN, hotspot, public WiFi or a network provider with certain settings or features. Or else using a particular firewall, or a security program like Norton that is triggering something on eBay's end. Or privacy software like Disconnect or Ghostery.
It might be a combination of several things, which might make it difficult to pinpoint.
Someone having this issue will have to try listing in different ways, with different settings or different combinations of enabled or disabled features. At some point, someone might stumble onto a combination that avoids the issue, and then post a message that says: "Hey, when I convert my JPGs to PNGs, I don't get that error message and I am able to list" and others will try that and find out if it works for them or not.

It seems that once an affected user lists and get that error message, some aspect of that user's connection to eBay may be interrupted or blocked -- but that is just the connection for that one user, not everyone else. Something on the user's end or with the particular way an item is being listed may be triggering some sort of security feature on eBay's end that is not otherwise triggered for other users.
When this happened yesterday search stopped working also. Search and listing are 2 separate things.
Both of those depend on having an open connection to eBay that is not being blocked, which can apparently be affected by your listing, revising or editing photos.

·2 years ago"Something about the way you are listing your item is causing your individual connection to eBay to be interrupted or blocked, but eBay is still reachable for everyone else while that is happening to you."
Ebay has stated it's a known issue and they have a ticket for it. They don't do that if it is something a few individual users are experiencing. For every person here who has reported this, there are a LOT who don't know about the community pages to respond or don't care that they can't list right now. Some people are occasional users. There's no problem with my connection or speed. Every other page opens on my browser when ebay seems to crash.
Fascinating that you KNOW people are causing their own issues when ebay hasn't said that, unless you have some inside information you aren't sharing?
eburtonlab
·2 years agoFascinating that you KNOW people are causing their own issues when ebay hasn't said that, unless you have some inside information you aren't sharing?
Correct me if I am wrong. This particular error is apparently only caused by a user listing or editing photos -- the error does not occur otherwise, and it does not happen at all for others users not doing those specific things. This does not mean that the users experiencing the problem are necessarily doing anything wrong or that they are to blame for this problem, or that eBay might not be ultimately at fault for causing the issue.
The fact that some users are experiencing this issue when listing items, and other users also listing items are not experiencing the issue at all would seem to indicate that there is something that the former users are doing that the latter are not (or vice versa). If someone can figure out what that difference is, that may indicate a way to get around the issue, or even point to a possible solution. As I said, it may be some factor out of any one user's direct control -- such as a geographical area affected, or a particular server that is causing problems. If the problem were that straightforward, eBay probably would have noticed and corrected it by now, though. So there are probably some other factors involved such as a particular network connection, VPN, firewall, security program or browser add-on in common for affected users that is not present for non-affected users.
If enough users complain about a problem, eBay will open up a ticket to collect data about the problem -- even if the problem turns out to be caused by those users all using the same browser version and the ultimate "fix" winds up being for those users to use another browser instead. eBay opens a ticket because there is a problem, long before anyone knows why the problem is actually occurring. If eBay already knew what the problem was, there would be no need for a ticket, eBay would just fix it or announce which browsers are supported and which are not.
Stating a problem is "eBay's fault" -- even if that is true -- does not actually do anything to help anyone. It is just a way to throw up your hands and give up trying to find the differences between the users having the problem and the users that are not that might actually help to diagnose or get around the actual problem.

·2 years agoAnother participant in this thread (unfortunately I can't find the post or the OP ID) suggested that the issue could be a bandwidth problem. This would connect with the association with listing photos, which comprise the bulk of the amount of data sent when a listing/draft is saved. It might also correlate to VPN usage, as that adds a link (of some undetermined capacity) to the eBay<->Seller connection.
Tonight I did the following creating a listing with 14 photos, each about 3MB in size. The left column is good/bad result of saving the draft. The right column is the number of photos involved in the save.
good only text, no photos
good 1 photo saved
good 2 photos saved
...
good 7 photos saved
bad 8 photo attempt
bad 9 photo attempt
bad 10 photo attempt
...
bad 14 photo attempt
good 8 photo attempt with VPN off
good 14 photos done in two groups of 7
To summarize, 7 photos and below saved successfully. 8 photos and above failed. (I did this repeatedly over an interval of about 45 minutes, but the sample size is still relatively small.) 14 photos done in two 7-photo groups worked (i.e., it wasn't the number of photos total, but the number of added photos that made the difference). Everything worked if I turned off my VPN.
I don't think this suggests that it's actually the number of photos involved. It's more likely that the limit for me has to do with the total amount of data saved (about 7 photos X 3MB/photo = about 20MB). This limit might be more or less in individual cases, but for those of us having this problem it's worth trying adding photos in small groups instead of all at once.

·2 years agoThis seems to successfully get around the problem!
Today I had a batch of listing to make. I made the first one before I read that message from @argus_museum. My listing had more than seven pictures; I uploaded them all in one batch; the eBay website crashed on me.—By the way, the crash used to happen to me not only when I was creating listings, but also when I edited them (and added pictures, usually to complete the rough which was saved when eBay crashed after the previous attempt.)
Then I read that message, and after waiting the necessary time for the eBay website to recover on my device, I made the same listing again, but uploading only seven pictures at a time. The website did not crash. I made all my other listing taking care to upload several batches of seven pictures: I uploaded seven pictures, then went down on the page to type the description while the pictures were uploading, and I uploaded seven new pictures, etc. And the website did not crash again.
Could the problem simply come from the number of pictures uploaded at once?

·2 years agoI have the same problem. I use 4 different devices and even went to the public library, which uses a different browser than my home, and I have the same problem. I can barely get on the site let alone make changes. I try to make changes and the changes are not saved or in the midst of saving the changes, I get one of 3 different messages saying "We looked everywhere. Looks like this page is missing. If you still need help, visit our help pages.", which is madness because the HELP pages are not accessible. I have been on ebay over 20 years and I have never seen anything like this. This problem has been ongoing since the last week in APRIL and I have now called at least six times but nothing has changed. I have done as ebay has said and called back in 2 - 3 days and still nothing has changed. I spend hours upon hours looking for an opportunity to list. I have almost 800 drafts but can't list because the site goes down ALL DAY LONG every single day. since the end of APRIL 2024

OP2 years agoHi- I totally get your frustration as it has been happening to me, I wrote this to another person with the same problems so that I can at least get some listings up:
Hi- I also have had the same problem for almost a month. This is what I do: I start to list an item when I can, including upload photo(s), write a description, put a price etc. just like a regular listing, but then I also have another eBay page open, often just the main page, and click refresh. If it goes down to the "Where's All The Stuff" do not press the List Item button yet. Then refresh that main other page every 3 - 5 minutes, I know this can be tedious, but it usually comes back up again anywhere from 5 - 20 minutes later, once it comes back up, you can safely go back to the page of your listing and hit "List It.", which you should do right away, don't hit any other page of any kind or it could go down again. Then do the same thing again. It takes 5 - 10x as long, but at least you can list some items, because as you've seen, if you try to list when it is down, then all your work disappears.

Seeing alot of these posts.........any reports on the problem?
devon@ebay
Hey @dhbookds! It sounds like @cinema_visions may be experiencing ALERT15317 where a seller is unable to list or sell similar as they are getting an error intermittently. I would recommend OP reaching out to customer support to have their account added to the ticket as an example and hopefully this should be resolved soon.

·2 years agoHas anybody else noted that this problem is the focus of the attention (on this board) for relatively experienced sellers? I went through the first two pages of replies to the topic and noted the following numbers of positive feedback for the participants in the discussion:
5921, 5066, 1737, 5147, 3265, 8874, 1043, 158, 8719, 579, 2107, 3759, and 1318
IMHO, these are folks who have earned a more forthright response from eBay than they have received.

·2 years agoSame problem here for the last month or so. Seems like i can upload photos through the app to my phone or Ipad and finish the listing fine. Then I can go back in on my laptop (only a year old) and make revisions. Very frustrating since I would like to just do the listings on my laptop.

Does it matter what format the photos are in? JPG vs. PNG?

eBay please step-up.

·2 years agoThis has been happening to me too. I have tried Chrome, Edge, Firefox. VPN on or off, cleared cookies and cache, tried laptop, desktop, logged out of eBay and logged back in and rebooted my laptop. NOTHING makes a difference. I am going to have to move back over to etsy, I depend on the money I make from ebay to pay bills and if I can only list 3 items over the Entire Memorial Day weekend, that's a problem. I sat here yesterday and was only able to list 2 items all day. For the fees we pay for the service, this is very poor management of their platform.
sunday_dogwood
·2 years agoCame to say I am also experiencing the same problems as cinema_visions and the other users here for the past few weeks. Turning my VPN off and on does not seam to make any difference. Also using Windows 10 and Mozilla browser. Consequently, it took me nearly an hour on 1 Jun to list a single item - quite frustrating and not a good use of time.
cinema_visions
OP2 years agoTonight I was able to list for almost one hour straight, from 830pm to 9:30pm PST, getting 12 Buy It Now listings into my Store, then the site once again has gone to "We Looked Everywhere Where's All The Stuff?" Now it stays that way for a good 10 minutes before it decides to behave and allow me to list another item.
There is no pattern to this. I am being super conscientious about what pages I have open, the process of each listing, whether I "view my listing" first before going on to "list similar item" as some patterns seem probably coincidentally to work better than others, but otherwise this is just now a waste of time, instead of listing a new item every 3 -5 minutes, it then takes 15 - 20 minutes. This is an eBay problem, there is nothing wrong with my browser, my laptop, or any other thing in my own networked system, and eBay refuses to even acknowledge this is happening to likely 1000s of users every day for a month. Admittedly that may be a tiny number of the million or so sellers who list regularly worldwide, but I expect my monthly Premium Seller service to include the basic ability to list when I want without hassle. It's as if the store is at a mall only I can't bring my inventory into it because the service doors are constantly closing. Very frustrating.

·2 years agoI have had the same problem for the last 3 days. Not looking forward to more of this!! I am in Colorado. I have tried in both Microsoft Edge and in Firefox. I have tried clearing my cache, cookies, and browser history but that doesn't fix the problem. I have disabled all ad blockers and turned off the VPN. I have logged out of eBay and logged back in. I have rebooted multiple times over the past 3 days. Nothing works. I reported it to eBay customer service, and they told me they would "add my account to the list of accounts for this concern". Not really encouraging.
I have the problem both when clicking Submit on a new listing and also clicking Save. It happens even if I try to save a listing draft that has no photos in it and minimal text, so I don't think it has anything to do with photos in the listing. But once I get the "Where's all the stuff?" screen, I can't get to any other eBay page and have to reboot in order to get to the eBay home page or seller page again.
I was able to create a new listing in the phone app. But that's just not practical do to on a regular basis.

·2 years agoIt's a REAL PROBLEM and eBay is absolutely clueless. You cannot speak to anyone on the tech side and it's been going on now for months without any change. The app on my phone is fine ... but I use my laptop and the website for my selling. Some days are awful ... and most nights are horrific! Why isn't eBay addressing this issue? I've reported it to them multiple times. More people need to call in and speak to an agent so it starts raising some red flags.

·2 years agoI too, am experiencing the very same thing. I live in the Cincinnati area (Indiana actually). I can say how often this is happening, which is every hour on the hour. By the end of the day, I get too frustrated to even list a pair of doll shoes, what with all of the item's specifics that eBay commands we list only to find that the list button is not going to work. I have contacted eBay several times and have been told it works best with Chrome....WRONG. I have tried all browser's and still end up with the same problem. I use VPN for protection & am on Windows 11. I've never had this problem before. It did start about 4 weeks ago. I'm thinking about using other seller places that will not give me the same problems I keep experiencing with eBay. Plus, I hate the automated system. It is NOT a live person. The tech people need to fix this issue immediately or I'm outta here. It will be eBay's loss, not mine.
eburtonlab
·2 years agoI use VPN for protection
That may be the issue. Most of the folks experiencing this issue seem to be using VPNs.
You may want to consider turning off the VPN, waiting a bit, and then trying to list.

·2 years agoEven if you turn your VPN off, it still maintains that IP address for the connection. The key to it is deleting all history for the last 24 hours and then logging back on. This ensures you are using your IP address and not a VPN's. There was definitely a security update Ebay did that caused this and nobody seems to have a clue on how to fix it. They at least need to acknowledge it exists and that you cannot use a VPN on their site to list.

·2 years agoI use a new-ish Dell laptop, I do not have a VPN, I have Windows 11, I use Google Chrome, and every single other website I use regularly besides eBay is working just fine, this is a 100% eBay problem connected specifically to a seller attempting to list an item
It may be an eBay problem, but this problem does not appear to affect all sellers listing items on eBay equally, so that indicates that there may be something a particular seller can do differently to avoid the problem.
If I were having that particular problem, I would try some or all of the following:
Try another browser to rule out a browser issue. Or try a private or incognito browser window. Unlikely that this is the issue here, but it always helps to try the easy things first.
Try another device to rule out a device issue. Try listing or adding photos using a mobile browser or the eBay app.
Try another network to rule out a network issue. Try using a mobile device when not connected to the usual WiFi.
If possible, try listing using a different eBay account to rule out an account-specific problem. That may not solve the immediate problem of being able to list with your selling account, but may aid in figuring out what the ultimate issue is.
Try disabling or temporarily replacing any privacy or security software you are using. You mention not using a VPN, but many experiencing this issue apparently are using a VPN, and at least some have had better results by turning off the VPN for an extended period when listing or editing listings. Temporarily shutting off the VPN after a problem has already occurred may not be enough. Hotspots and programs like Ghostery or Disconnect can also cause issues related to account verification, and might conceivably cause issues when listing.
Perhaps there is a problem that only affects a certain network provider, or a provider using certain network settings. There was a problem in the UK several years ago that prevented certain eBay pages from loading properly that turned out to have been caused by improper child-safety settings used by several network providers.
It might be worth trying to list in different ways -- starting a new listing using different listing tools (quick listing tool, business tool, new tool), avoiding templates or trying different templates, using "sell similar" from different listings, to see if any of these affect the problem. Try listing without photos or with minimal photos, and then try adding the photos later, using different means, using a different browser or the app.

·2 years agoIt is an Ebay problem. Stop trying to divert the real problem. Too many people having the same problem does not make all our computers to have a problem at the same time. FIX IT EBAY!!!
I find it odd that some users seem to have a serious problem listing, and yet others seem to have no problem at all. What is the difference between the users having a problem, and those that are still able to list?
If the problem is all at eBay's end, and there is nothing at all any user can do about it -- no way to avoid it or work around it -- then there is no point discussing the issue any further. Users having a problem will just have to sit there and wait patiently for eBay to take care of the issue, since there is nothing anyone else can do about it.
If there is a workaround, on the other hand, then the only way to discover that is for users to share what they have actually tried, and discuss what is working and what is not. Perhaps the issue only affects users of certain network providers, or in certain geographic locations. Perhaps there is a combination of factors: using a certain listing tool or template, using certain kinds of image files, in combination with a browser add-on, or a particular type of security software. Or maybe it is not any of those, but something else no one has considered yet.
That would only become apparent if users share information about what they are doing, even at the risk of being accused of "trying to divert the real problem", whatever that is supposed to mean.

If you are experiencing this issue it might be worth changing your domain name server to see if that affects anything or lets you post a listing.
