Ridgways Semi-porcelain plates
I have done a bit of research on these Ridgways plates but apart from the Quiver and Arrows mark, the words “Royal Semi Porcelain†and references to Flow Blue, I have not been able to find anything quite like them online. The blue is very dense, and the lion and bull depictions have something of the qualities of photographs.
They are 10†in diameter, and the feet are pierced (before glazing) for hanging. Most of the gilding around the edge has gone, and there is one “blowhole?†and a few gritty blemishes on the bull plate. Can anyone help?

·2 years agothis is not flow blue, just blue transferware. flow blue color runs under the glaze and gives the impression of an out of focus photo. the mark was used starting in 1912, the term semi-porcelain means nothing as far as ceramics, it is just a marketing term. looks like the date mark maybe 10/16 for october 1916 but it is not clear to me.
