Why is my sale on hold after being a 100% pos feedback for 25 years

Why after being a member of ebay for 25 years and 100% feedback over 1000 pos reviews, am I told I have to wait for a day or two AFTER the buyer gets my item to get paid. I NEVER had to wait before and cannot find out why I am being treated this way. I am further told there may be a longer wait if the buyer has ANY complaints. This will be the last time I sell ANYTHING here! I tried using the "assistant" It was like talking to a brick wall and a TOTAL waste of time. I am so disgusted that a place that has been a second home is now a place of pain and anger.

·1 week agoThis just happened to me and I cancelled the sale because they told me they could hold it as long as they wanted. I have been a member for 18 years and 100% feedback as well. I have had gaps in my selling many times throughout that time and it was never a problem. I have made many purchases throughout the times that I don't have items listed also so it's not like the account hasn't been used. I asked how often items needed to be listed and she said there was no set time??? If there is not a set time of how often items need to be listed, then how can they decide to hold my money for so long? I don't trust them after the PayPal departure. One item I soldand shipped it to Ebay in Kentucky and then they sent it to another country, which then lost the item. Ebay took the money from me and reimbursed the seller because they didn't receive the item. I am still not sure how Ebay didn't go after the shipper, but they said it was on me for the item not being delivered even though it made it to where MY label they sent me and it also made to the country they sent it to, just not to the customer. I finally got help from Paypal because that was still an option for payment. PayPal was appalled that Ebay was taking it from me, the buyer had also tried to help me and and Paypal ended up reimbursing me. I do not trust Ebay for payouts that they won't even give a timeline on. Guess I will start trying to sell on Facebook Marketplace, can't be any worse. It may take longer, but at least I get my money and looks like they have lower fees if you choose shipping through them. Good luck to all. I miss the old eBay.

·2 years agoYour feedback level is not used for evaluating your performance as a seller. 25 years ago it was used.
AS @asset_liquidators says states an account that has not sold for a while is not trusted any more than a new account.
Old accounts have been resurrected and used for fraud.

·2 years agoSorry but buying is not counted against selling holds, it would be nice if it was, but it isn't.
eBay uses what you have sold in the past 90 days as a base for holds on payouts. If you have not sold anything in the past 90 days, new or returning seller holds come into play.
Did you read the information in the link lakefor94 provided?
We cannot see how often you sold leading up to that sale 7 months ago besides a few Feedback's, so no one here can comment on why those payouts were made in a timely manner, just that you have had no sold items in the past 90 days and may be subject to delays in payout on the items you have listed on this account.

·1 week agoIs that universal? I shut down all my sales before surgery in May, didn't start selling again until late July. No holds on payouts. I was shut down for over 90 days. Back at it now though.

·2 years agoBeen like this since they rolled out managed payments several years ago. New and infrequent sellers are subject to payment holds. I had payment holds on one of my less active selling accounts even when PayPal was running the transactions.

OP2 years agoSo why didn't my sale of $70 five months ago [10/13/2023] get put on hold??? I got my payment right away. It feels like rules get applied randomly.

·2 years agoIt is because you have not sold anything in a long time. You are treated as a "new" seller when you don't sell anything for some time.

OP2 years agoI sold a vintage Hard drive for $70, 5 months ago! That is NOT a long time ago! There are NO complaints EVER in 25 years I pay for my items within minutes of winning! After 25 years I am being treated like a newbie. It may be time to sell elsewhere, SAD! oh well, I guess 25 years of loyal, 100% feedback of 1093 reviews is not good enough for Ebay! When I first joined Ebay they had heart and caring and treated you with respect based on your past performance, it's all gone now.
