why do i have to enter bank info now?
i do not sell much on ebay but the last time i did i just listed the items and sold them. and the winning payments went to my paypal account. so yesterday i went to list a samsung a21 phone and i got it all set up to list and then i got a bunch of banking info they wanted me to put into the account.
the last time i listed items the money went into my paypal account, so did ebay do away from posting the money into peoples paypal now? i do not want to post my bank accounts into ebay as i do not trust some internal person deciding to tap into my bank accounts. i had that before with a credit card on ebay someone started withdrawing from my credit card and the credit card company saw it and gave me credit.
i'm not going to put myself into that spot again. so do i really have to enter bank account info or will ebay put the money from the sale into my paypal like they did before?

·3 years agoBig banks did some political arm pulling during one of the monstrosities that Biden/Congress ran through last year. Remember they were going to make all banks report transactions over $600 and the banks revolted- in a way. As the bill was passed somehow the banks were negated from the bill but the Fintech companies were not. BANKS wanted companies like paypal to be knocked down because they considered them a major threat future. Paypal was bigger than Goldman Sacks with only JP Morgan being bigger... Look how this has all since changed. As I said, behind the scenes political arm pulling.
