Where is the link to open a dispute where buyer and seller can comment each other?
I have a buyer from 8/22 who has not paid. I'll wait a few days more but I'd like to open "what used to be" a dispute where the buyer and seller can respond to each other's comments "before the seller might ask Ebay to get involved." Today all I see is "cancel and relist" and choose the reasons you are cancelling.
I'm not cancelling and don't want to at this point.
Where is the old "resolution" options? So both of us can make comments to "resolve" the matter. Thanks.

I don't really understand what do you want to achieve. You have two options:
1. Contact the buyer via msg system and talk to him, ask if he still want the item. If yes, does he need more time to gather funds or what is the issue. If he does not want the item any more then go to option 2.
2. Cancel and relist. If the buyer doesn't want the item any more or simply does not communicate with you and does not pay... well you have no tool to force him to pay. So stop wasting you time and relist and try to find another buyer. You simply can not do anything. There is no way to enforce the payment. eBay will mark this buyer as a nonpayer within its internal system, but that means nothing to you. Just simply move along. There is nothing else.

·2 years agoPer your other thread it does not seem that the buyer is interested in, or may for some reason not be able to be in contact/reply to you.
Resolution Center is not needed for you and a buyer to communicate.
eBay messaging provides that means.

There is no option for negative feedback for a buyer, no matter what your experience has been.
So strict is that policy, even leaving negative comments in a positive rating is not allowed
When a buyer doesn’t pay, eBay has ways for sellers to mark that account as a nonpayer.
Resolving unpaid items with buyers.
96 hours after the listing ends, or after the seller sends an invoice, sellers have the option to cancel for nonpayment.
This gives them a strike. Sellers are able to block bidders with two or more unpaid cancellations in the past year.
Once cancelled, neither party can leave feedback.

OP2 years agoWe are not interested in feedback or cancel at this time.
We look for the "open a resolution" or "dispute" which is (or was) a more gentle way to talk to and hear from the buyer before the seller could ask "Ebay to help".

·2 years agoA seller cannot open a dispute. eBay will not get involved on a unpaid item. The buyer is not committed in any way to have communication with a seller.

OP2 years agoSite map at the bottom is "resolution center" Clicking there gets login page when we are already logged in. When entering the password to login and go to resolution center it rolls over to another sign in page. Endless loop.
Resolution center must have been removed as a tool.

·2 years agoThe Resolution Center, if it even exists anymore, is for the buyer to file a case of not received or not as described.
Sellers can't file a dispute.
Sellers can and should cancel the transaction choosing unpaid and then block them when they don't pay.
They should not be coddled! Don't make nice, they weren't nice to you when they didn't pay.
eBay sent an invoice. They know they have to pay by 4 days or else they can get a strike. Did they ask to have longer to pay? Did they tell you they can't pay because eBay wasn't accepting their card?
If they didn't I would cancel the transaction, block and relist and not look back.
These dead beat bidders is why I am all in for requiring payment when bidding and buying.
Buyers can change names and make new IDs to get around blocks.
Prepaying nips that in the bud.
It's a relief to know if they bid and win you're going to get paid.
You can enable that buyer requirement if you choose.

Then take no action at this time. There may come a time when you're ready to cancel and relist... wait till then. 🙌
