Venmo being added as payment Option
While Venmo is a wonderful and convenient Payment option for Buyers, recently it has been linked to numerous "Scamming" operations which unfortunately is on the rise. (use in the private Sector) *Is the seller protected By EBAY against these rising issues as Scammers are becoming more "advanced" in their abilities to find ways to "override" automated/automatic Payments with "delays", "false Numbers to clarify for issues", "accounts moved" are examples: ending with Money Being Lost by Private Sellers ( I worded this badly, I apologize) In my area, Banks are placing these accounts as RED FLAG Options and to be Used with caution. There are daily reports of People selling Privately, only to lose their Money. I have chosen EBAY as a 3rd Party Entity as a Protection against these Risks. Thank you so much for your thoughts on this. I love this Community Concept of discussion.

·6 months agoSince sellers are not being paid directly by Venmo, but would receive the payment via eBay just like every other sale on eBay, it doesn’t really affect sellers directly. The buyer pays eBay by Venmo, and the seller doesn’t need to do anything different and is not in any additional risk.

No, if the seller chooses to believe the fake Venmo payment notifications in their email or text. Don't text or email any buyers outside of the eBay Message Center. Neither Venmo nor eBay will have any record of fake payments and they will not refund you.
Yes, if the seller confirms payment before shipment by looking at these eBay screens.

I've never used Venmo. Are you saying it's riskier than Klarna or PayPal? If so, how so? 🤔
