Unable to get EBAY TEAM Custoner service to assist in crediting my accout for returned item
Returned item to ebay for full refund. This started in January 2nd. Seller agreed to accepting return. Today, February 3, 2024, I just completed talking to EBAY Customer Service, (after many different conversations) and was told that there was nothing EBAY could do to help. I have two different SR# and a long running series of conversations with customer service. I have contacted my bank and was directed back to EBAY. I am very dissatisfied with EBAY customer service responses. I wish to contact EBAY at a higher level, but that seems imposssible. I have been a EBAY customer for 12 years with a 100% buyer results. I have a huge amount of documentation but will not post it here.

OP2 years agoOK, this is a final response on this issue. I realize that you all do not work for EBAY. This was my attempt to reach out to someone for assistance, since EBAY after numerous conversations could not or would not help. There are too many details to discuss in this forum.
Thanks for the ideas. I will use other methods

·2 years agoYou have a very simple solution @sysmgrawin to get your refund.
The reason that your bank has been directing you back to eBay, is because your bank hears you saying that eBay has tried and failed to PUSH the refund back to the bank.
Give up on that, and go the other way instead. Go back to your bank and file a Credit Not Received chargeback, provide you return tracking number, and PULL that credit card charge back from eBay.
"Credit Not Processed" chargebacks are filed by customers who have returned their purchase but did not receive a refund from the merchant.
When you approach eBay CS from this direction instead, the expiry dates do not matter: You are identifying a charge on your bank statement, saying I returned that, please PULL that refund back. And your bank just gets that payment back from eBay -- no dates needed -- after reviewing your return tracking number.

·2 years agoCheck the current status of your return here, and, if necessary, ask eBay to step in when that option becomes available -- typically after three business days from the tracking showing delivery back to the seller:

OP2 years agoGentlemen, This was sent using EBAY return shipment label. This issue has NOTHING to do with improper return. Everybody agrees that EBAY received the item. That is not in dispute. I have discussed this with EBAY and the seller. The seller advises that EBAY is responsible for crediting my account. EBAY did in fact send a credit to my bank. The credit was rejected by my bank due to "indicating the wrong credit card expiration date". After many conversations with EBAY TEAM Customer service and escalating to supervisors on several occasions, I have been told many incorrect ways to remedy this mess. I mentioned in previous messages there were two (2) different SR# documents. The final straw was to call my bank (again) and talk with them per EBAY supervisor. I have already done that on several occasions. On my last call with EBAY Team Customer service, the supervisor told me there was nothing EBAY could do. According to that agent, I am just out oner $270. I will not let this rest until I get satisfaction. The SR# reflect conversations with other EBAY employees with I was placed on HOLD

OP2 years agoAll of the above detail shows why "EBAY TEAM CUSTOMER SERVICE is not capable of handling this type of MESS!!!! I am asking that someone call me to discuss in detail these issues so I can finally get my refund.

·2 years ago@sysmgrawin this is a forum of other members. Ebay is NOT Here. You are NOT talking to 'ebay'. Nobody will call you.
See post #11 and answer these questions; then we can help direct you.

·2 years agoPeople are focusing on the return because of your wording that you returned the item to ‘eBay’. It was the seller, not eBay that sent you the item so it should be sent back to the seller, not eBay.
Regardless, this is a user discussion board so eBay won’t see your post here. You might have better help if you contact eBay for business on Facebook by sending them a private message there. They also have a customer service platform on instagram and X. (Twitter)

·2 years agoNOBODY agrees that EBAY received the return because NOTHING gets shipped to 'ebay'.
Returned items are shipped to the Seller.
If tracking shows item was delivered to seller (did you record and check tracking)- once it does, you can 'escalate to ebay' if seller doesn't refund.
1.) What date did you open return?
2.) What date did you ship it?
3.) What date did it deliver to the SELLER ? (NOT eBay- as stated, ebay is NOT a place to send anything)

You are the only one who inputs all the credit card information when buying..
If you supplied the wrong information then ebay can not legally change it. It is the USER who can.
Ebay issued a refund exactly how you paid it.

·2 years agoI am not a Gentlemen since I am a woman but... if you received your credit and it was rejected by your bank due to the wrong expiration date; that falls on you and not eBay or your seller. What needs to happen here is eBay needs to re-issue your refund after you input the correct information, and maybe that will happen if you keep persisting.
There are many companies that will not re-issue a single cent if the original was rejected based on a problem from the buyer's end. I ran into a warning when I went to pay a bill online that advised to make sure all credit card information was correct because they do not issue refunds more than once... but maybe eBay does not have that policy if you're lucky... if you are lucky keep trying or maybe your bank will eventually step in.

·2 years agoIt can take 30 days for the money to show back on your credit card. If the seller agreed a return on Jan 2nd then a couple of days to post and who knows how long to arrive back to the seller, before they refund.
As others have said has the seller received it back yet?

·2 years agoWhy would you return the item to ebay?

Don’t post your phone number on the internet. This is a public forum, viewable by anyone on the planet with an internet connection. No one, except scammers, will contact you.

Returned item to ebay for full refund.
Do you mean you sent it to eBay Corporate offices?
Where did you get to address to ship this item back?
If this started January 2, more than 30 days have passed and eBay help has timed out.

OP2 years agoMy issue has nothing to do with improper return of the item. This issue I have is receiving a credit to my mastercard for this returned item. This is in the amount of over $270.00 which I have been dealing with since January 2, 2024. EBAY customer service is not geared up to deal with such a issue. I have several SR# assigned to this mess. Today, I was told that EBAY could no longer help. I need to escalate to someone that cal help see the whole issue.
Thanks, SYSMGRAWIN

·2 years agoIf it wasn't returned right, that would be an issue.
Did you return it to Ebay or the seller?
Did you start a return through Ebay or shipped it back?
albertabrightalberta
·2 years agoSo how was the item properly returned?
Did you go to the order and click "return this item" through the order?
If you returned the item through the order, the SELLER is the one to issue the refund.
After it's issued, the credit goes back to your original payment source.

·2 years agoWe really need more information to help. I will try guessing:
Did you actually open a return case thru eBay?
If so, what type of return label did you use?
Was the return label provided by eBay or did you use your own label?
If you used your own return label, did you enter the tracking number to the return case?
What does/did the tracking show in the return case? Did it show as delivered?
We could go on and on with questions. --- Help us out here with details please. What exactly transpired with your return?
