They blocked my account to take my payout cash
Summary: naretabulgaria shared their experience of having their eBay account flagged and payouts blocked after attempting to update bank details. They assert compliance with EU laws for selling chemical products, and expressed frustration over not being warned or allowed to correct mistakes. eoma689485 and others explained that red phosphorus, one of the products allegedly sold, is strictly regulated and illegal to sell publicly on platforms like eBay. Multiple participants emphasized the importance of understanding and complying with each platform's specific rules, particularly regarding hazardous materials.

Hello! I’ve been selling chemical products on eBay as a private seller for a few months, though I do own a company and conduct all sales in compliance with the law. A few days ago, I was due to receive a payout for delivered shipments, so I decided to add my new bank account details. The moment I clicked the button to do so, all my listings were flagged with an error, and my payout was blocked. I contacted an agent, and they gave me some nonsense about me having "harmed the site"—yet they didn't seem to think so when they collected around €100 in fees from those very same blocked payments. The system now shows that my payouts are blocked. I have no complaints or negative feedback.

·2 weeks agoRegardless of anything else, the fact that they took their fees and are now blocking the payout is ridiculous.
If this is indeed the case, it is outright thievery.

·2 weeks agoRed Phosphorus is banned under eBay's Hazardous Materials Policy - so it can't be sold here.
Red phosphorus is an explosive precursor and a List I regulated chemical under federal law in the United States and similar tight regulations in the European Union. It is a critical ingredient used to manufacture illicit drugs (specifically methamphetamine) and illicit pyrotechnics
It is also illegal for a private individual to sell or ship through normal transit channels.
"they gave me some nonsense about me having "harmed the site"
Not really nonsense - you listed items, and it sounds like you sold some, that are illegal to sell here in the United States and illegal to ship.
My guess - you are headed for a permanent, non-negotiable ban due to a severe policy or legal violation (selling illicit chemical precursors).

OP2 weeks agoEverything comes with an invoice and a declaration of intent I own a company with papers and everything needed. And it’s very interesting how eBay saw no problem with it for six months—until they had to pay out. Everything was paid for and delivered without a hitch.

All the stuff doesn't matter in the US.

OP2 weeks agoBut I own a company with papers about this sells and we sell using the EU law. Everything comes with an invoice and a declaration of intent.

·2 weeks agoIf you offered the product on the Ebay.com site for sale in the US, that is totally irrelevant, you must comply with US laws and Ebay policies.

OP2 weeks agoNo one warned me or gave me the chance to correct my mistake. That is not the way to go about stealing a few hundred euros from your customers. They do the same thing with PayPal, and I don't think we owe them interest-free loans, or...

·2 weeks agoUnder EU law, a business can legally ship it to another verified business if they collect that declaration of intent. However, you are completely ignoring the fact that eBay is a public consumer marketplace, not a secure B2B industrial exchange.
So, your company paperwork and declaration of intent - are not for retail sales to the general public - it is for verified businesses.

OP2 weeks agoI’m currently selling on 7 or 8 other platforms—even Amazon. I haven’t had issues anywhere else, and it’s not fair to make someone wait six months just to swipe the money.

·2 weeks agoIt doesn't matter where else you are selling it ......what matters is that it wasn't allowed to be sold on eBay.
It's your own fault you are in the predicament. You need to know the rules of each platform you are selling on.
