Starting today for some reason when I win an auction eBay is paying for it without my ok?
Won two items today both times eBay completed the payment process without any input from me? Gives me 1 hour to pay on my own…?

·2 years agoIt is a relatively new policy.
Sellers who have the ability to do so can turn it on/off for their auctions. So which seller has it active and which doesn't will vary, and likely lead to even more confusion.
We'll see how long it lasts because I predict buyers will hate it with a passion.

·2 years agoIt's to stop all the non paying bidders. A kinder way than using the Spanish donkey.

OP2 years agoIs this a new policy? We always had up to four days to pay. What if I don’t want to pay in an hour?

·2 years agopolicy has been in place for a while, but does not apply to everyone. Just random.
Some sellers have their buyer requirements set to not require the pre-authorization, so even though you have been inducted into the fray it may not be a requirement on all listings that you bid on.
The 1-hour to pay is an improvement allowing the buyer to select a payment method.
then you do not bid on listings that have that requirement if you do not want to pay promptly😊

·2 years agoBefore you placed the bids, didn't it ask you for your payment information and tell you it'll use that information to pay for the order if you win?

If yes, you did authorize eBay to charge your method of payment when you won.
