Should I be concerned...?
I sold an item with "Buy it Now" and was notified by eBay that the buyer had paid including the shipping cost. I sent the item via USPS Priority mail the same day. I see the money on hold in my account. But, the buyer has refused to contact me even after several requests. Not a peep.
This seems unusual, but it seems that the money was paid...so I guess I should just consider this a lack of etiquette? Or should eBay contact the buyer to direct some communication?

·2 years agoDon't worry about it. It's not that big of a deal. Sending a message is allowed but neither party is required to respond.
Have a great day.

The funds are on hold because you are a new seller. Has nothing to do with the buyer.
If you expect to hear from the buyer that he received the item, isn't there tracking showing that?
If you want to continue selling, please do some more reading about selling and payment hods.

If you are a new seller, your payments will be placed on hold by eBay for a specific period of time, after which they will be released to you.
This is not a problem with your buyer, so it is not advisable to contact them anymore, and there is no reason for the buyer to contact you, unless the buyer has a problem with the shipment. "Etiquette" has nothing to do with it -- in fact, your buyer may rightfully accuse you of poor etiquette, for bothering them about issues over which they have no control.
You may wish to re-read the eBay rules regarding new sellers.

The only lack of etiquette is pestering the buyer.
No buyer is obligated in any way to respond to a seller.
New and infrequent sellers are subject to payment holds. Here is a 2 minute read that explains:

OP2 years agoI realize the money was on hold as per eBay policy. My question about no response was not really about issues regarding payment, although I guess it does seem that way because of the wording of my question.
I didn't realize communication in the process of an eBay transaction is considering "bothering" a buyer.
I buy and sell things all the time (and have done so for years) on a number of other platforms beside eBay and good communication is usually considered a plus.
I now realize that I need not communicate at all with anybody on my eBay transactions. Sure hope I didn't overly offend the buyer with my simple question and comment. Seems like it was a quite serious faux pas...
