Seller payment: 'sent' 10 days ago, still hasn't arrived....
23 years on ebay; several thousand purchases, and 1-1.5K sales on two seller accounts, with single-item final-value up to $20K...i.e. not a questionable quantity.
After a recent sale, ebay messages:
- NOV 10: "You got paid for..."
- NOV 12: "We sent your payment..."
Today, NOV 22, still a no-show in my bank account.
Question: How long before....10 days, becomes.....forever?
I have seen a post indicating that standard ebay 'customer service' folk are Phillipines-based and
have no real knowledge or problem-solving capability RE payment issues. It has been suggested
that Xm, or Facebook are the way to contact ebay. Well, I don't choose to use either; thus, how
can I get some assistance...?

·2 years agoIf you haven't sold anything in a month you are considered a somewhat new seller.
eBay doesn't care about how long you been with them or how much you bought.
There is usually at least a 30+ day hold on funds.
So maybe sometime around December 10 th you will receive funds.
Sorry, but it is what it is and we sellers have all been there.

Firstly, let me say that....I quite resent the implication-by-Policy that....
over some months since my last sale, I have, in stark reversal to my
long-term historic establishment of my standard, become a criminal.
IN a proverbial nutshell, THAT is what it is. Period.
Now, in this case, as the following {sterilized } info. from ebay indicates,
there is NO hold involved; they indicated paid, funds sent, and provided
the 'bank reference ID'.
I will be going to the bank today, having given them the tracking no.
several days ago, to see if it provided any actual means of tracking
the whereabouts of the payment, my money. - I hafta think that
Adyen, the contracted payment processor for ebay, may have the
funds, held-by in a 'float-bearing' account... What else should I
think?
Others have asserted that the 'bank reference ID' is not an actual
ACH number (my research indicates it should be a 9-digit number),
and others have indicated that their bank found it of no use... Perhaps,
an inter-ebay-and-Adyen ref. number.....?????

Likely that policy has less to do with eBay suspecting that you, personally, have suddenly decided to turn to a life of crime, and more to do with eBay wanting to make sure that a criminal has not hijacked your eBay account after you have not sold in a while, and used your account to list items to scam other users.

If funds were being "held" it seems that the verbiage would have stated such rather than
- NOV 12: "We sent your payment..."

OP2 years agoActually found a way to SPEAK with an ebay (foreign) rep:
- WE sent IT; you have the Bank Reference ID ; we can't do anything further
- Doubting that my bank will be able to determine anything, using that number
Thus......WHERE is my money (not chump change...), and what recourse do Ii have?
EBAY MANDATED use of THEIR M-P system, and, by extension their system has failed.
THEY MADE THEIR MONEY.
