Registering a nonprofit unincorporated organization with a PO Box address
Hello, I need help trying to figure out the proper way to provide documents that will get eBay to use the physical address of the President of the business I am working with (nonprofit, unincorporated). The problem is there are no Articles of Incorporation since this is an association. The Form IRS 990 lists the president of the association but shows the address as a PO Box. The 501(c)(3) determination letter is in the name of the original president, since resigned, and his address. My last shot is the document of candidacy and I'm not sure what to use here. There is no one specific document that identifies the President with her physical address. I have an unsigned Articles of Association that identifies both the PO Box and the physical address of the President as addresses of the association. I've already submitted the 501(c)(3), the IRS 990 and the Articles of Association in 3 separate tries and eBay keeps saying that I still need to verify the entity name. I now also have to verify the address. I am trying to tie everything in through the President and her address because the bank statement for the association also lists a PO Box for address. I do have a utility bill in the Presidents name. It seems I only get to upload one document for each verification. Does eBay save all downloads? Do I need to merge multiple documents into one file? How do I get over this hurdle?

·10 months agoNot being a lawyer, I am amazed that your not-for-profit received 501(c)(3) status.
Without incorporation it exists only as a dba for the original president unless there is some special provision.
I suggest you seek legal advice on how to legitimize the legal status of your entity.
It is likely that Ebay is similarly confused by your status.

·10 months agoIf you're trying to sign up to sell, don't think a PO Box will work, need a regular address.

·10 months agoTry contacting the CS reps on social media, Facebook or X and ask them. The multiple addresses will be an issue, as reading your post, I have no idea what is the actual address used, but I believe it should be the PO box, assuming that is valid in eBay eyes.
