Randomly got 2 micro deposits last night
I woke up this morning to emails from 4am from my bank asking to confirm 2 small deposits. Two deposits of a few cents each were made from eBay. Now I remember this happening a while back when I had to set up managed payments. But why would it happen now randomly? I had no message or email from eBay. When I check the eBay app and go to payments I see a red banner at the top that they need to verify my bank account. Never had this happen before. I get paid out every week without issue. Says they will send email with the next steps but haven't gotten anything yet. And as of now there is no where for me I input the deposit amounts. Has anyone else had ebay randomly try to verify bank account?

·3 years agoIt's been 6 months since your recent sales so I imagine since your account was dormant they're just trying to make sure it's you listing and not someone else using your account.
Verify the micro-deposits and keep on keeping on!

·3 years agoI would encourage you to contact eBay through requesting a call. Go to the help section and select update my account for payments. Then the chat selection should provide a callback request. eBay will be able to tell you if this happened from their end. Sounds like a scam. This is what used to happen through Paypal when someone was attempting a hack.

·3 years agoThe same thing happened to me last night. I got notification from my bank about the micro-deposits being a sign of someone trying to link my account but I did not get an email from eBay nor was there a message regarding the deposits on my eBay messages. As with you, there was a red banner on my eBay dashboard prompting me to enter the mirco-deposit amounts. My bank account has been linked to my eBay account for years and, ironically, a payment was deposited this morning along with the micro-deposits so clearly the account has been verified. I called and spoke with an eBay representative who states that "this is something that eBay is doing now" but couldn't elaborate as to why this was being done with a previously verified bank account other than to say that eBay is just confirming that the account information on file is still correct. This whole process still doesn't make sense to me as again, the account is obviously verified if a payment was deposited the same day as the micro-deposits. Bottom line, my concern was that another eBay user was trying to link my bank account and the representative confirmed that eBay initiated the micro-deposits so I feel semi-confident that the micro-deposits are legitimately from eBay and not fraud.

·3 years agoHI There. Are you using a Credit Union? Sometimes there are issues with pinging a credit union. Doing the micro deposits, may have saved you from having to re-verify you bank account info.
Just my two cents.

·3 years agoNot me, personally (yet), but the same thing happened to my daughter and even though she kept checking her email account, no email ever turned up. Then one day a banner appeared in her Seller Hub (or My ebay, not sure) with a place to enter the micro deposit amounts and that was it.
