Processing payments
Hi, I’ve been using eBay to sell some cards and I refunded a buyer straight away after regretting selling one of the cards, I realised after I should’ve just cancelled the order after some research. I know I shouldn’t have refunded straight away but prior to that have been consistent with selling, just a dumb decision on my part.
anyways I refunded the seller as they paid straight away. I now have $298 in processing but says no money available for a payout. I looked at what the $298 that was processing and it included 2 cards plus the one refunded, I’m now freaking out that I made a major mistake and I’m hoping everything corrects itself. Im just wondering do I leave it as it’s the weekend and that could be the reason ?

·8 months ago@emmarose1997 You will want to make sure you cancel that order. You need to cancel it for being out of stock. Do not pin it on your buyer since you are the one who backed out.
Do not list stuff you are not willing to part ways with at whatever price it goes for. If you keep doing that, you'll find your time here quite brief.

OP8 months agoIt’s okay I don’t need feedback from someone who has never purchased or will purchase from me. Question was quite simple and I’ve found the answer through a customer service agent

Are you saying (I hope not) that you didn't like the price and reniged on the deal? If so I just hope I never buy from you. If not........................

OP8 months agoThat’s fine I’m not using eBay to make a living, I’m a new mother that’s getting out of a hobby so I’m not looking to push selling anything to anyone who doesn’t want to purchase from me 🙂
anyways it’s all sorted

You earned that feedback from the buyer. And so you know, your response to the feedback reflects way more poorly on you than had you not responded.
And it sounds like a knowledgeable buyer who will report you if you aren't honest in choosing the reason for the cancellation.

OP8 months agoThank you for your input on the feedback I received, I don’t need to keep coming back to this post as it’s already been answered 🙂

·8 months agoRefunds are immediately taken out in seconds of 'available funds'.
Same as a cancellation...
And plus you might get a 'ding' for a refund(cancellation).

·8 months agoYes you should refund right away. The buyer deserves their money back for your "change of heart." You need to formally cancel the sale as out of stock.

·8 months agoYou can only send payouts from what is in your "Available" funds. You would need to wait for any "Processing" funds to clear and become available before you can send as a payout.
If these were all fairly recent purchases, then it seems everything is probably as it should be.

OP8 months agoThankyou for you reply, that does make sense as the buyer paid straight away and the refund went through straight away aswell . I’ve done the maths so everything adds up, I’m assuming seeing the card I refunded as one of the payments processing I should still get that money but it was only because I refunded during payments processing that it seems confusing. Yes they were transactions from yesterday
