Payouts are on hold. What?
I received a message from Ebay this morning stating that my payments are temporarily on hold. This is a new one for me...not sure why this is happening or if I should be worried about it?
I had a buyer leave me 3 negative feedbacks yesterday, which Ebay removed after I contacted customer service. The buyer was demanding that I refund them the shipping fees because they felt they were charged too much. Shipping was Ebay's calculated USPS rates based on the exact weight of the items being shipped...so the buyer was in the wrong. I'm assuming it might have something to do with that...but not 100% sure.
Ebay is my sole source of income and if I have to wait 5 business days for this to get resolved then I won't get my next payment until next week...which is not right. I need to receive my payouts in order to pay bills and buy food this week.
The only thing on the following list that would apply to me would be the negative feedback that Ebay has already removed:

OP1 year agoUPDATE: The payouts hold is gone. It lasted a little over 24 hours. Still not happy about the whole ordeal...I don't need this type of stress in my life.

·1 year agoI wanted to add, you mentioned that ebay is your sole source of income. You might want to reconsider that and try to diversify. I have five different sources of income, so if one is slow coming, I have something to fall back on.

OP1 year agoWhat do you think I thought about all day yesterday and all morning today? 🙂
I definitely don't want to ever get put in a situation like this again.

OP1 year agoI talked to customer support this morning and the guy said that the reason my account is under review is because I'm "doing well" as a seller. He said it's because my sales have been up this month. That is the reason why I am being punished and unable to have access to any of my money until next week at the soonest.
The whole thing is ridiculous. Getting punished for "doing well" as a seller is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

·1 year agoI see 'free shipping' on your items.
So why are you mentioning shipping charges.
Did you request buyer to add shipping charge?...by an email?
And did you exchange email addresses?...in eBay

OP1 year agoThose specific auctions that I referred to above had Ebay calculated shipping charges.
Not all of the items I list have free shipping.

OP1 year agoThanks for the replies. It's irritating things like this that drive sellers away from Ebay.
I've been selling on here since 2001 and I have never had my payouts suspended before. I am not happy about this at all...even more so because I don't know the reason why they did it. 😡

·1 year agoI'm selling on eBay and my payouts are on hold until I verify my bank details and I have to wait for them to do the micro deposits. So frustrating. Hopefully yours is resolved quick too.

·1 year agoSorry you are experiencing this.
If the only 3 negatives you have are remorse for the true cost of shipping, I doubt that is the issue.
Don't know if this is relevant to your situation but I just experienced a payout hold pending verification of a key component of my selling account.
This "component" was/had been verified upon my account creation 15 years ago.
There have been zero changes to this data in 15 years.
There were zero mitigating causations for this inquiry that I could see (from my side of the curtain).
I surmise, perhaps in error, that this was/is a routine security check done periodically.
It was swiftly resolved but did indeed cause a delay in my payouts & some additional unneeded stress.
The "worrying" part, if there was one, is that due to the nature/size of the platform messages are worded vaguely.
They are sufficiently ambiguous so as to cover any & all circumstances whilst providing maximum butt coverage to the platform.
They leave you wondering what in the world the issue is or may be.
They also leave you uncertain as to what might be the next delay on the hopper. If any.
If only they could craft/draft a message that was remotely specific to the reason for the inquiry it would help 1000%.
This won't ever happen.
So again, I am sorry for your delay but the process on this platform is going to grind on like so many grist mills & there will be no way to expedite it.
Hopefully, there are no further delays or additional requests.
Best of luck with shop & sales.

Hopefully it will take less than 5 days.

·1 year agoI doubt the three negative feedbacks have anything to do with the hold.
Hopefully it is just a routine review and you'll have you money soon.

·1 year agoHow can the shipping fees be too much? Shipping was shown right? Don't like it? don't buy it!
