Payments On Hold for NO intelligent reason
I recently moved and wanted to do the right thing and update my address on ebay. After updating the address, ebay put all my payments on hold, and wanted updated information such as tax returns, IRS EIN #, Articles of Incorporation, etc. Half of the itmes on the list I do not even have because they are not relevant, and most of the others NEVER get updated once they are filed with the state / federal governments. I attempted to submit my recent bank statment, but no, that was not good enough. So I set the address back to what it was before, and re-submitted my IRS EIN # that I received many years ago. Now my account is still on hold saying that the information provided was not good enough. Wait a **bleep** minute here, it was good enough for the past 10 years but not now? It was good enough 2 days ago, but not now? I called up and was told by support that this decision was made by "the backend". I said let me talk to "the backend" and explain the situation. I was told that was not possible. So let me get this straight: I cannot communicate with the staff that is putting my account on hold? Why? Where is the transparency? I ask myself this is the service I get after paying 12-1/2% on every item sold? I suppose in 11 months I will get a tax return with my current address and will be able to submit that. All I want is for eBay to have the correct address and for buyers to have the correct address if they need to return something. It seems that eBay just cannot get the hang of making things easy for sellers. With service like this, it's no wonder people are flocking to other "marketplaces".

·1 year ago'update the address'...not just for eBay...but everything related with eBay.
That would mean the new address on your first page bank statement with the heading of the bank showing on the first page sent as an email to eBay.
Everything has to be updated with new address...even a driver's license if it was requested.

·1 year agoThis is a normal response when someone doesn't agree with a reason that Ebay may have for doing something. But they do have a reason. Yours may be for multiple reasons. Sadly you do have to work with EBay until they have the documents they deem they need. I do realize that Ebay can be far more difficult though this process that the logical mind can understand, I really do respect that and how frustrating this process has to be for you.
Below is the policies on this subject. While you may feel you know these policies, I would encourage you to read through them as you might just find the answer as to what piece of paperwork that you are trying to supply them is causing the hiccup.
Ebay has had a rule for many years that pertains to New Seller and sellers that have been away from selling for 90+ days. The following is the policy that outlines why you money is likely on hold.
