Payment received for an item I did not sell
Ebay sent money to my personal acct for an item I never had nor sold. It seems there is no option on their "help" page to report this buyer. How do I keep it from ruining my reputation by not sending the unknown item?

OP1 week agoIt's all taken care of. I contacted the buyer and am refunding her money. You can all stop blasting me. Thank you for your comments.

What would you report the buyer for?
All they did is bought an item item that was listed for sell on your account.

·1 week ago · EditedYou don't "report" a paying buyer. You refund them then figure out how you had something listed in the first place so it doesn't happen again.
I am not too sure someone hacked into your account to sell a $25 book. Usually they would be listing multiple $2K laptops or something then cash out before you catch on.
Is anything else listed on your account? Change your passwords!

The buyer did nothing wrong. Not sure why you even want to get an innocent buyer in trouble for your account problems.

·1 week ago · Edited@kavin_37 , what is the item number for the item that was sold?
When did this happen?
If you didn't list the item for sale, then someone who was able to log on to or access your eBay account did it. Have you logged onto a public wifi, or used a shared device at some time?
There is nothing to report the buyer for. Chances are, they had nothing to do with it. But, you do need to refund their money.

The book, right? Item # 397582852913.
That listing was active on your account since last February:
Start: 07-Feb-26 End: 15-Sep-26 Ran for 7.3 months
Does that ring a bell at all? Did someone use your computer or your phone for some reason? Did you log in at a cafe or something?
Because you can't ship the book to them (if you never had it) you need to cancel the transaction and refund the buyer's money. You don't want eBay to have to do it for you -- if you do it yourself, then eBay will refund the fees they charged you. If not, then they won't.
Here's how to cancel the transaction and refund. Click the link, then click on the blue Cancel Order button, and follow the prompts:
