payment preference box doesn't work
Its been happening for about a month, I go to bid, payment preference box pops up, I choose a method, and I still can't bid!
Just spent 48 minutes on phone with help desk, oh its a technical issue, sorry, but I CAN'T BID!

What browser are you using? Latest version?
Any difference if you use another browser? Or the eBay app?
Any difference if you choose a different payment method?

OP9 months agoI tried 3 browsers , different cards. The eBay person said the payment preference box wasn’t working for him and it’s a technical issue

·9 months agoI'm reasonably sure most users can still bid and can still choose payment methods.
If you want to bid, you may need to figure out what is different about your account or your payment method that makes it impossible for you to choose a payment method when bidding.
Have you tried a different device to rule out a device issue?
Have you tried specifying a payment method for auctions on your Payments page rather than when trying to place a bid on a specific item?
Have you tried using the app instead of a browser to specify your payment method?
Have you tried creating a new eBay account to see if that makes a difference?
If possible, try a different payment method rather than the cards you have tried. Try adding a card to your PayPal or Apple account, then choose PayPal or Apple as your payment method. If you are a seller, try choosing "spendable funds" as your payment source for bids.
