PAYMENT OPTIONS
IS THERE ANY CHANCE OF EBAY GETTING REINSTATED WITH AMERICAN EXPRESS. THIS IS MY MAIN CHOICE FOR PAYMENTS WITH EBAY (AND) ALL ON-LINE COMPANIES. IF EBAY LOSES AMERICAN EXPRESS FOR GOOD THEN MY PURCHASES WILL DWINDLE TO NEARLY NILL.
I CAN ONLY HOPE THEY CAN WORK IT OUT !

·1 year agoEbay is over reacting to the transaction fees with american express. Ya its a tad bit higher than others but not by much. Heck its cheaper than ebay charging $2.00 for every payout going to a debjt or credit card without a linked bank

·2 years agoeBay won't do that aa American Express charges a higher fee then the other charge companies. It's the same reason Costco switched to VISA years ago.

·2 years agoI don't think ebay cares very much about the further loss of some of it's buyers.
Most buyers are expected will adapt
The economy will conveniently be blamed for the major loss of buyers & lower sales

·1 year agoThere are alot of sellers who do use that payout method and that is going to hurt ebay for losing us as sellers

I know it was not accepted in some categories.
Is it now completely uncacceptable?
Is eBay just slow to update?

Highly unlikely. I think I've read 8 or 10, maybe 12, similar posts here in various "communities."
A dozen or even 1,000 eBay users who vow never to buy on eBay again if they cannot use their American Express cards won't mean that much to the eBay Corporate Decision Makers.
There actually is a way around this prohibition:
If you haven't already, open up a PayPal account.
Set up your American Express account as the primary funding source for your PayPal account.
THEN you can buy from eBay using your PayPal account.

That was eBay's choice -- not American Express.
American Express fees are too high for some processors, such as eBay.
