Payment on Hold Since Jan 4th. Feedback Positive, 100% Rating Overall, Seller Since 2006.
I'm honestly livid. I tried talking to a chatbot but it was useless. It showed me an error screen as if that was somehow my fault or problem(?). I told it that I'd already received positive feedback on the transaction in question. I didn't provide tracking on the order but never do and this is a REPEAT customer.
I was asked for my SSN at the beginning of this year so I gave it. Other than that, nothing out of the ordinary. In no universe should it take this long to verify my information, especially when I've been a seller here since 2006. I'm "above average" in all selling categories.
I refuse to talk to customer service on the phone about it--just GIVE ME MY MONEY! It's mine. You already keep $15 for yourself, which isn't subject to any "holds". What kind of bogus shell game is this company running anyway? If you don't release my funds today you'll be hearing from my lawyer shortly. This is ridiculous.

·5 months agoTo Whom It May Concern ebay
I’m writing this as a long-time seller, business owner, and someone who truly believes in what eBay used to represent for small businesses and independent sellers.
Lately, I honestly feel like eBay is becoming harder and harder for honest sellers to work with.
Holding seller funds for 7 days, 18 days, sometimes even 30 days after a product has already been delivered is hurting businesses. Cash flow matters, especially for small sellers. Many of us depend on timely payouts to reinvest into inventory, shipping, payroll, and keeping our businesses alive.
What makes it even more frustrating is that every customer service representative gives a different answer. Nobody seems to have the same explanation anymore. There’s no consistency.
Today I contacted support because a buyer is attempting to return damaged car parts and send back broken parts that were not the originals we shipped. Instead of receiving real help, I first dealt with an AI chatbot that didn’t understand the situation, and then I was transferred to an overseas call center where the representative had no clear understanding of the issue either.
I have owned businesses for years — both brick-and-mortar and online businesses — and I understand that some change is necessary for growth. But the direction eBay is heading feels disconnected from the sellers who helped build the platform.
The commissions continue to rise.
The payout delays continue to grow.
Seller protections seem weaker.
Communication is inconsistent.
And the human side of customer support feels like it’s disappearing.
eBay used to feel like a partnership between the platform and sellers. Now many sellers feel like they are being treated as liabilities instead of valued customers.
If these trends continue, I truly believe many long-time sellers will start looking for alternative platforms to sell their products.
I’m not writing this out of anger. I’m writing this out of concern because many of us genuinely want eBay to succeed again.
Please remember the small businesses, independent sellers, mechanics, collectors, and entrepreneurs who helped make eBay what it became.
Sincerely,
James Viscuglia

Ebay is not here.

·9 months agoYou have made 35 sales on Ebay in about 20 years.
Over that time, there has been a major emphasis on trust and safety on all internet marketplaces and with payment services.
You have not sold enough to earn the trust to receive your payment sooner than 90 days. Bring your attorney a copy of the Ebay Services Agreement which you are a party to, so that he will tell you not to waste any money on his fee.

·9 months agoWhy all the angst? You do keep available funds set aside in case of unexpected returns/claims correct?
This is just eBay making sure you have available working capital available in case a sell goes sideways.
Shouldn't be a problem........................

·9 months ago" I told it that I'd already received positive feedback on the transaction in question. "
Just for your own edification, feedback does not release your funds any sooner. You wouldnt be the first seller to receive positive fb on your item, then three weeks later have that buyer open a refund case against you. Its fairly common, actually.

·9 months agoYou might want to read for 2 minutes here before bothering your lawyer, lol.
The short read on payment holds:

·9 months agoThat'll scare them.
It doesn't matter how long you've been here.
You haven't sold anything in a little while, so they'll treat you like a new seller.
They can hold your funds for 30 days.
With no tracking, they'll hold the funds for 30 days.
