Payment on hold
I have been selling for 3 months with over 100 sales and 100% positive feedback and have been getting all of my payments the next day but today I made a small sale and it says payment on hold until after delivery? Does anyone know why this would happen?

·1 year agoeBay is rolling this out to all sellers no matter what. I just got hit with it and all my sales are on hold until delivery. I am unsure how this will work with ebay standard envelope since most of mine don't ever get marked as 'delivered' but only 'out for delivery'.

·1 year agoSince most of your eBay Standard Envelopes don't ever get marked delivered, do you think this may be the reason for eBay to place a hold of the funds? Did eBay say how long the hold will last for items that don't ever get marked as delivered?

If not then you need to remove any mention of Stabley from your listings or you risk a VERO take down

OP1 year agoOk so what's really weird is yesterday I got 1 sale and it says the payment will be available tomorrow. Then today I've gotten 2 sales and they are both payment held until delivery. How does any of this make sense???

·1 year agoYour Betty Boop necklace listing is not set up correctly. Personalization is for adding names and such to an item.
You need to use variation style listings.

OP1 year agoI only did that because it says variations are unavailable

·1 year agoYour account was activated March 12, 2025 and you prior sales show 73 items since March 19th with a total of about $788.16 in sales. That is just over two months of sales.
I do not know the exact formula eBay uses but I had a new account and it took a year and 10 sales with a value of $1600 before the payment holds were lifted. After a few sales I did graduate to funds released day after delivery.

OP1 year agoMy end says 106 sales and over $1600. As I said I have been getting my money the next day for over a month now so I'm just confused as to why it went back to being held until delivery. Nothing changed and I didn't sell anything expensive

·1 year agoYou are way ahead with sales and dollar amounts of what I had before my holds were lifted. I don't know if the amount of selling time is a factor. Did you have any minor issues or returns
You have not been having holds and now your are. This normal indicates there may have been problems with your account. Did you have any minor issues or returns?

·1 year agoI see the 106 has gone up a little. It now shows you sold 120 Items sold with 75 Results. I was going by the second number and calling it the sale. If some of the sold items were packaged together for combined shipping then it would count as one Sale like as if everything was purchased together on the same receipt.
You appear to offer combine shipping. Have you ever added something to a sold item that was already paid for without combining the shipping thru eBay. Example someone purchased something and paid for it and then they wanted to add something else to the package so you just added it to the package? It is ok to do this but you would still need to manually add the Tracking Number for the second item otherwise eBay would not know that it was shipped. If you have any items that are not showing a Tracking Number this could be a reason for eBay to resume holding you funds. Just a guess.

I'm going to post you a link on the payment hold policy. Perhaps you will find something to explain the "why" if you look through that info.
Good Luck.. https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/pending-payments?id=4816

OP1 year agoThank you. It just doesn't make sense when mt payments have not been on hold for months and now they are. And nothing has changed

You're welcome, no worries.
I understand the confusion..
Did you sell something particularly expensive? Like a lot higher than your previous sales?

·1 year agoMaybe eBay is doing some checking or will ask for more information from you.
The Stanley "charms" - You should probably not mention the brand name of the cup.
Those type of things tend to get sellers attention that they dont want.
Also you should not put the cup in your photos. Buyers can assume they get the cup and or the manufacturer may think you are selling their product.
Some manufacturers dont want you selling their product "new"-

·1 year agoIt usually takes about 3 months before eBay sees some irregularities in a new seller.
Are you 'drop shipping' or do you have all items you are selling at home?
Have you done any 'out of stock' sales?...That's 'the kiss of death'.
And maybe I am wrong...but are we allowing to sell 'Stanley Cups' on eBay or maybe just not type you have you are selling?...I could be wrong on this.

OP1 year agoI have all items in stock and have never done out of stock sales. And I'm not selling Stanley cups just the handle charms for them
