Payment holds
Having an issue with eBay hold on payment.
I have Been on Ebay since 2000, sold on eBay since 2001. I stopped selling for a few years, kept on buying.
In May, I started a new sale, so payments were put on hold, under the "new seller" (they obviously do not care about sellers who have sold here for the past 20+ years). Anyway, so in May my first 2 listings had an hold on them, until delivery, OK, no problem, following sale, from end of May to Last sale in June, payment were made available right away, no hold.
My last listings, ending this past weekend, payment were all put on hold? so, I contacted Ebay and asked them why? I have no unusual pattern of selling, ship my items within 24 hours or less after buyer paid, no issues with returns, no complaint from buyer, no policy violations, nothing, I asked them why and they would not give me an answer, I referred them to their payment hold policies and read their own policies, kept asking ebay what did I do wrong?, because according to their policies, they need a reason, right? well what is it? they refuse to say, so I asked to speak to Higher up, well, same conversation and same result, but this time lied to my face, the guy ( Jose) claim that there is a 90 days period for new sellers???? so I asked where does it mention it on the user agreement? well he proceeded to lie and even told me he would have somebody reach out to me with the user agreement bits. Guess what, I read and re-read the user agreement and it comes to the exact same conclusion, they had no valid reasons to hold my payments ( remember, all my sale in June were paid right away)
So, I called them again the next day, twice and both times they refused to transfer me to a "higher up" both times, they promised someone would contact you within 24 hrs, well that time as also come and gone.
So basically they are holding a substantial amount of money, refuse to tell me why, they are not respecting their own policies.
Now, because the buyers had paid, I sent everything within half a day.
I am quite **bleep** off, there are no mention of a time frame on their used agreement and it seems they just hold payment whenever they feel like it , for absolutely no reasons.
So, they have my payments and I have no items.
I would have understood if they would give a valid reason, but they provided none.
If you are aware of that 90 days period, then explain why I had 4 listing in June, all paid before shipping goods??
Or is eBay holding fund just to increase their own profits???

·2 years agoIt was on the site years back that payments would be held until you were selling for 90 days, had $250 in sales and 25 feedbacks for selling.

OP2 years agoThat statement is nowhere to be found, not in the user agreement either and no such things are mentioned in their " reasons for holding payments".
I have been selling since 2000 with around 1900 sales, I ship items right away, always as advertised, well packed, no neg feedback in 24 years. Been selling again after stopping for about 4 years, I purchased item, just did not sale anything. This was at the beginning of May and had listings every week since then, and between 25 to 50 listings each times, like I said, they held the funds the first few sales and then received payment right away until last week.

·2 years agoWhen I started selling, I had to be selling for 3 months, sell so many items and sell a certain $ amount before they stopped holding funds.
You had to meet all three.
Not sure how they do it now,?
When you start selling again, sometimes they'll let a couple slide by before they start holding the funds.
Why do they do that, I don't know?

OP2 years agoWhere does it mention a 90 days period? the eBay "higher up" I talked to, could not provide me with anything in the user agreement, I checked everywhere. They only mention why they could put your payment on hold, I did belong to the "new seller" at first, but then payment were received for the whole month of June, with 4 different listings.
I just needed to know why, yet eBay are incapable to tell me why??? they have no valid reasons to hold payments.

Do you not find any place that you fit in on that list? Seems like eBay would've reached out if they needed more from you.

OP2 years agoNo, I even asked the eBay person why my payment where on hold and did not provide an answer, I did not fit in any of the categories, only at the beginning of May when I started selling again. Sent all the packages within less than 24 hours, no neg feedbacks, no issues with buyer, nothing. Like I stated, they did hold funds the first 2 listings, then got paid right away, until last week, where they held payment.
