Payment Hold
Have been on ebay for many many years. Sold an item. It was delivered. Customer loves it but yet ebay is holding my payment till the 23rd. They said because it didnt go through authenticator. That wasnt my fault. They didnt require it on the listing and he said its because they didnt have anyone to authenticate it. Again not my fault. Now since they didnt authenticate it I have to wait till the 23rd to get paid. Anyone else experience this?

Looking at your sales in the last 90 days, only your most recent sale did not have the Authenticity Guarantee available.
It was well above the $500 minimum value, but the brand (David Webb) was not on the list of eligible brands, which is why it was not eligible for Authenticity Guarantee.
That is probably not why your payment is being held, that is probably because of the high value of this transaction. Other sellers have reported that payment is always held for transactions over $1,000.
However, the Authenticity Guarantee on your other sales may be why you haven't experienced this before.

·6 months agoNot having it authenticated wouldn't directly be responsible for any payment hold, with one major exception: did you ship to the address provided by eBay on the order details? If the buyer said to ship it to them directly instead of the address you were given (if it was supposed to be sent to the authenticator), not only are you going to have to wait for the payment hold to be lifted, but you have opened yourself up to an item not received claim that you will be unable to win.
If that's not the case here, then it's just a normal hold that many sellers experience. All new and infrequent sellers are subject to transaction holds, and large sales or one outside of your normal selling patterns will trigger holds as well.

It was shipped to the buyers address listed on Ebay. It did not require it to be shipped to authenticator, as they normally do. I was told they had no one that could authenticate it. Have been on ebay for 28 years and have concluded transaction for this amount and higher. Had a sale last month for about this amount. So it is my normal selling pattern. Just strange they can hold my money for about a month.
