NEW POLICY - Payoneer charged me annual fee as I received less than US$2,000 in the past 12 mths !!!
Payoneer NEW annual fee policy in effect. To avoid, need to receive over US$2,000 in the 12 months BEFORE effective !!!
I've never noticed the policy change until I saw the deduction in my account. No email received in advance. As a private leisure ebay seller, it's impossible to meet the $2k threshold within a unreasonably short notice period before effective, let alone I was not notified of the policy change at all.
Any ways to claim the annual fee back? Otherwise, my previous sales profits were for nothing but to be taken by Payoneer.

We are updating the criteria for charging an Annual Account Fee of 29.95 USD in some countries. In the affected countries, starting from the effective date, an Annual Account Fee will be charged if 12 months pass and you have received less than 2,000.00 USD (or equivalent) in payments.
For remaining countries, the criteria for charging an Annual Account Fee remains the same: an Annual Account Fee will be charged if 12 months pass without you having at least one transaction in your account.

·3 years agoI am very familiar with their fees and it's not new. Maybe you just weren't aware until it happened. You fell below 2k so you were charged.

OP3 years agoThanks for replying. The problem is with Payoneer's poor communication and implementation.
It failed to notify users about the policy change in a reasonable and proper manner as I did check my email/junk daily.
Even if it did, this was totally absurd to change the criteria at 10/11th month saying that you need to pay if you cannot meet $2k by the end of 12th month.
Anyway, for me, it is now less worthwhile to sell with eBay/Payoneer.

·2 years agoHi, I'm based in Hong Kong and in the same boat too. As private leisure ebay sellers who make well under 2,000 USD a year, it's no longer worthwhile to sell on eBay given the fees Payoneer have now imposed. It basically leaves us with no option but to close our accounts.

·3 years agoWe don't use Payoneer in the U.S., so I can't help. But I did wonder if you'd looked at Payoneer's FAQ on the fee to see if there might be a way around the fee:

·3 years agoYou've posted on a US board where we don't use Payoneer. That being said, it might be worth your time to contact them and plead ignorance... asking for a refund this time.
It reads as though it could happen any/every month... and I don't think you could plead ignorance but once.

·3 years agoIt must be for select countries. I see you may possibly be in China. ? Your country me have a new requirement on such accounts, like a tax, also. Sorry to hear about this for you. It would upset me also. The big guys are always out to nickel and dime everyone they can.

OP3 years agoThanks for replying. I am based in Hong Kong. And most countries/regions other than the US are under impact. Payoneer is designated by eBay. On top of eBay fee and Payoneer transaction fee, there is now an extra annual fee. Well, it is no longer worthwhile or profitable to sell on eBay 😞
