·8 months agoI'm always uncertain when sellers say they sold $427...was that the sold amount or the total amount the buyer paid? Holds for new sellers are expected and eBay can and does hold as much as they feel is necessary to get past the 30 day MBG

Seriously though, the person or organization that is keeping your money isn't reading this. This is a community forum comprised of buyers and sellers who are using the ebay platform like yourself.
In the future, you will need to be more mindful about how much you are spending PROMOTING your item. Ideally that should be 2% of the sale price at most, and zero at best.
Ebay can't - and won't - stop you from overspending on promotions. Yes it's a bit underhanded. But that's part of the free-market, capitalist society we live in. You need to make sure you aren't getting taken advantage of at every turn. Just because something is offered to you (promoted listings) doesn't mean you have to say yes and give them your money.

·8 months ago@vickimarti-6714 It looks like you started selling a month ago. New and infrequent sellers have a hold on their payments for up to 30-days. Read more about that here.
Also, do you promote your listings? If so, what type of promotion do you do and at what is the rate? A lot of sellers will promote at eBay's suggested rate. If you have done that, it most certainly would eat away at your revenue.
Also, you appear to be eating some of the shipping cost. For example, if I had bought the New Era San Francisco Giants cap you sold I would have paid $5.77 in shipping. That is the 8oz rate for Zone 8, which is where I am in relation to you. That hat, once boxed, would weigh more than 8oz. The only way it could ship for less than that would be if you put it into a poly mailer.
