My ebay gift card is missing the numbers under the sticker that I peeled off.
My ebay gift card is missing the numbers used to redeem. I peeled off the sticker and the numbers under the protective stick were pulled off. I am missing several redemption numbers or code numbers. How do I replace this bad gift card ??

·11 months agoNever buy gift cards off a rack in a store.
This is an old scam and catches thousands of suckers each year.
Local TV news and sites like the AARP site have publicized the scam year after year, but no one seems to ever see the warnings.
Most stores will not help you. Ebay will not help you.
If there was a sticker instead of the rub off coating, you were had by a lazy scammer. There are no stickers on legitimate gift cards.
Your money was gone before you made it home from the store. The scammers use a bot to monitor the balances on the cards they have tampered with.

·11 months agoAre you sure about that "no stickers on legitimate gift cards"?
I ask because I have recently used 2 Aldi gift cards, both bought at an Aldi store and both hand stickers. I still have 2 unused cards, bought at the store (have receipts) and they too have stickers. (In case you're wondering, fairly recent birthday. Friends and family know exactly what I like.)

·11 months agoI would not expect Aldi to act in a way which differed from all the other retailers in the world.
I still would not trust their cards on a rack, and you reinforced my feelings with your experience.
I have a short list of things I buy at Aldi and am often disappointed when they are out of stock on some or all of those items.
I have learned what hour of day that the one open checkout is not backed up and if I am in their neighborhood at that hour, and I have a quarter in my pocket, I go in.
Labels on cards make life easier for scammers, so there must be a reason for Aldi to do this, probably a cut rate card vendor.

·11 months agoThank you for the birthday greetings. I may have given the wrong impression. Birthday was in May, got so many cards for BD, MD etc that I am still using them and they all have worked. My problem with Aldi cards is that, if you want to see how much is on them and go on line to do so, you need to have those 4 numbers under the little stickers. So far, haven't been able to coax those off the card so always go into the store with some backup cash.

·11 months ago'peeled off the sticker'...I thought one had to scratch off that stuff on the numbers with a quarter.
Just take it to where it was purchased which shows the numbers are not there.

·11 months agoA scammer did that before you purchased it. They copied down the number and then removed it. They replaced the strip and placed it back on the hook for sale. They then wait for it to be sold and activated. They can then spend it. The missing number is so you can't use it before they do.
If there is a number on the back of the card call it. As others have stated it looks grim....
Never buy gift cards.

·11 months agoSorry to say, but I don't think you can replace it. I'd suggest to try the retailer where you bought it, but doubt it'd work. Bummer.
