Item Purchased
Question. I purchased items back in October 10th and received item on October 25th. Payment cleared, etc. Seller acct. is now closed. I did receive merchandise in time, contrary to him saying it was not (see in his comment below). He had a pic attached to e-mail but I did not click on it to open.
I get this email from him stating: Sorry to bother you.
As the picture shown, my store has been frozen by ebay for funds due to the problem of delivery time not in time, so I can't withdraw my money now. But can refund to buyer.
Can I refund the amount to you and then you transfer 80% of the money to me through pay pal?
It's equivalent to you saving 20% of the money
I hope you can do a favor to solve it.
I need this money.
Sounds fishy to me. I have merchandise. Money was taken from my payment history by e-Bay. He should have money. I checked his ratings and he has several negative reviews. Some on the same subject as he is requesting me to do. His acct. is no longer active, but I can read his feedback history. I just do not feel safe doing what they want.
Sincerely thank you!

·1 year agoBAD idea, you could very well end up getting your account debited back for whatever amount was refunded, just for being involved in said scenario. I would even go so far as to add this person/seller to the blocked list and then proceed to go about your day. consider this wise/sage advice.

·1 year agoSo you paid and he received payment. You apparently were satisfied with the transaction, right.
Is this a new seller? You do not need to do anything.
If he really believes you didn't receive the item, and wants to refund you, why would his solution be to your advantage, with you getting only 80% of your payment refunded to you? That's why I asked if he's new.
If there was tracking proving delivery, all he should need to do is post the tracking # to eBay.
BTW: Noticed the negs you left for sellers whose items you did not receive. Did you utilize the MBG to resolve the issue and get a refund?

·1 year agoYou have excellent instincts. This is one of several similar scams. You would likely be out whatever you sent him.

·1 year agoYou may want to report this message to eBay.
The "seller" is trying to get you to request a refund and then pay outside eBay.
His account being "frozen" is because he had issues with his sales OR wouldnt supply documents OR is new and didnt know he would have a 30 day hold until he is proven to be a good seller.

·1 year agoHis payment hold or eBay closing his account is not your problem. Eventually he will get his funds eBay is holding. He might have to claim them through unclaimed property in his state because that's where they will l be sent. DO NOT agree to him refunding and you repaying.

·1 year agoNo, don't worry about the seller.
You have your item and his account problems is not yours.
Don't pay them anything outside of Ebay.
