Payment for stuff I recently sold a couple years ago showed up in my bank account - I guess I was using Managed Payments and didn't realize it.
I did look at some MP rules and found there were additional restrictions on what can be sold if MP is used. That doesn't make any sense, but I don't care.
A couple of years ago? Maybe those were paypal transactions and the money went to that bank account. You need to see if you are in MANAGED PAYMENTS before you list. Go to MY EBAY on a desktop (preferably ) find MANAGED PAYMENTS and click it. See if you are enrolled or not.
In the drop down under your user name, open account. When that opens, you should see payments. When you click on that you will need to sign in. Once that opens, if you are signed up for MP, the top left box should show the last four digits of your checking account if it is added, and in green that it is the preferred account to receive payments.
Thanks but I'll pass. I was with ebay long before Paypal - had over 100 sales paid with USPS Money Orders. I don't need the drama of reading all those regs especially when I'm sure they are scattered all over the place, non-intuitive and contradictory in some instances.

It is pretty simple - and so much better than either PayPal or receiving cash, checks, and money orders.
I like Managed Payments - most do. Digital wallets aren’t necessary or efficient.
The Rules of Mail Order for decades were: Buyer responsible for shipping cost and insurance, then Seller shipped after funds cleared.
US Postal Money Orders are as good as cash so can ship immediately upon receipt. (Other MO's are phoney baloney) NOTE: you can take a USPS MO to the Post Office and they will tell you if it is genuine.
People still ask for shipping on CL and FB and many agree to my Old Timey Rules.

·3 years agoMake sure that you do not list anything and sell it because you will NEVER get the payment. It's 2023. It's MANAGED PAYMENTS now on ebay.

OP3 years agoI've looked under My EBAY and there is no MANAGED PAYMENTS in the list. I looked around Selling and Payments and Account and find no mention of MP.

·3 years agoTo be paid, you have to provide a checking account and your SSN.
Since you haven't sold in awhile, they can hold your funds for 30 days.

·3 years agoEbay has changed over the last few years. It would benefit you to read all of ebay polices so you know the rules and how things work now.

Money orders?? People nowadays would send you Thousands of Dollars in MO's (all fake of course) and you will be OUT everything that you shipped.
....and if you DON'T ship on time; you're out.
Out of eBay.
Out of Everywhere as there is NOT a site that will allow you to 'wait' for a MO to arrive and then 'clear' (which could EASILY be 20 days).
