·1 year agoSure – just trying different numbers at the end of the string. You have 100 combinations to go through.

·1 year agoIf you've scratched off the numbers on your eBay gift card and can still see part of the code, you might be able to use it by contacting eBay customer support. They may help you recover or verify the card if you provide them with the relevant details. Otherwise, the card might be unusable without the full code.

It is not a manufacturing issue.
The cold, hard truth is, they were stolen.
The card is worthless.
There are multiple posts a week about this.
It’s not just eBay gift cards. There is a vulnerability with them all. The bar code and PIN number are not secured, they are accessible to anyone. Thieves have found a way to take that exposed information and exploit it.
Don’t buy gift cards that have this information open. Find cards that have a security feature across the barcode. Only buy cards that are sealed. If you can see the barcode and the PIN patch, don’t buy it.

How are you supposed to help this person with their issue? By scamming them? You just created an account 2 minutes ago. This is an old thread from April and it is doubtful the OP will reply. People are watching...fyi.

4 number of the card

If the missing numbers are at the beginning of the card you can find out what the numbers were by getting a magnifying glass and looking at the tinee-tiny fine print on the the bottom of the front of the card. You'll see a series of letters and numbers. Write them down. Then remove the letters. The numbers left, in order, are the redemption code except for the last 4 numbers.
